The lead actor Vijay Devarakonda said in an interview that to be in the character of Arjun Reddy while filming the movie, he stayed away from watching light hearted comedy movies and preferred to watch dark movies instead.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga, director of this movie is from a medical background and studied in Mangalore similar to the protagonist in the movie.
Actual running time of this movie was 220 minutes, but was reduced to ~190 minutes due to external pressures.
The entire portion from the time Arjun loses consciousness to the point he is implicated in a legal case, right till his confession to the special court that he was heavily drunk while he was performing the surgery is completely lifted from Denzel Washington-starrer Flight (2002). Even the dialogues between Arjun Reddy and his lawyer are heavily copied from Flight.
Sandeep vanga's brother produced the film as the producers tried to change the script to make it look like a commercial story. They sold their property for producing the film. Cast & crew came to sets on their own transport.
