Writer and director Alex Israel managed to secure the rights to the track "Hungry like the wolf" by Duran Duran as he had just produced artwork for their 2015 album "Paper Gods". Israel met Duran Duran through his friend China Chow (who serves as a producer on the film.)

The wet suit that Camilla makes whilst on the pier was replicated as an artwork by writer and director Alex Israel entitled "Self-Portrait (wetsuit)" in 2015. The sculpture was produced by scanning and 3D-printing the artist's body and then casting it in aluminum. It was then covered in stucco - a mixture of cement, sand and water - which is a typical surface material in Californian architecture.
