Raz Wickham in Rattle the Cage (2018)

Trivia

Rattle the Cage

Edit
Before changing the name from Menace To Society, Rattle The Cage was originally written and recorded back in February 2013 after Raz had been approached by a former female Nashville rocker named Danielle Bloom through social media. Bloom requested Wickham's musical expertise to write a party song for her stage performance but was unable to do so having strictly a serious minded approach when writing music in general. Being too heavy for her old school rock style, Bloom passed on using the song for herself, which left Raz to hold onto the title track until the right opportunity came to utilize it in his musical arsenal for The Edge Of Beyond.
Raz is the sole writer of the song as well as performer on the official recording including all vocal tracks. The entire instrumentation track for the song was recorded by Raz himself using his blue Jackson King V and Randall Cube amp through a Yamaha AW16G. The vocals were recorded at Free Thought Studio in Columbia, MO as well as track mastering.
The wicked chant that repeats several times throughout the entire song was created and performed by Raz for the sole purpose of capturing a proper level of angst in regards to feeling caged up and enslaved both mentally and physically by modern society.
The role for the Criminal Psychologist was originally written for Erick Avari by Raz in May 2017. After presenting the project as well as the song to him personally at the local Smallville Con in Hutchinson KS in late June, Avari had shown interest but passed on the film two weeks later due to the films low budget constraints. Having met him at the same convention that weekend in June, Raz immediately hired Paul T. Taylor to replace Avari as the Criminal Psychologist for Rattle The Cage.
Rattle The Cage as a song and short film acts as a powerful allegory for those enslaved both physically and mentally by a government controlled system in modern western society. Having thought provoking themes regarding things such as free thought and speech, Rattle The Cage maintains a strong political plot at its core that aims to speak to people on a universal level.
