Rumors, theories, and predictions for season 4 of Netflix's The Witcher make it clear that audiences are conflicted, and with no release date announced yet, much of that speculation is turning into complaints. With some notable villains already having been killed off, there are concerns about some of The Witcher season 4's new characters and how they'll fit into the plot. And of course, there's the issue of Liam Hemsworth replacing Henry Cavill as Geralt.
Still, with the little that has been leaked about new characters and locations, there are reasons to be excited about the upcoming season. There's also a chance that season 4 may fix The Witcher's pacing issues the show has struggled with in past seasons. It's important to find positive things to focus on among all the naysaying, and here are some of the most exciting things to look forward to in The Witcher.

Stephen Emery, a producer and film executive who worked for Gale Anne Hurd and Bill Gerber and on films featuring the likes of Clint Eastwood, Anna Kendrick, Liam Hemsworth, Aaron Eckhart and Liam Neeson, has died. He was 46.
Emery died Saturday in a Los Angeles gym after a workout, Big Swell Entertainment CEO Andy Horwitz told The Hollywood Reporter. He recently joined the production company that had launched in October.
“Everyone that had the pleasure to know Stephen Emery is heartbroken over the sudden loss of one of our own,” Horwitz said in a statement. “Stephen was much more than an invaluable producer, he was also an irreplaceable friend. Rest in peace, brother.

TV had the run of the place for awhile there during the pandemic. But now that vaccinations are speeding up and the weather is warming, it’s film’s time to shine. At least that’s the conclusion that can be drawn from HBO Max’s list of new releases for June 2021.
There are no real original TV series of note coming this month, which is highly unusual for HBO and HBO Max. In their place, however, are some really impressive film offerings. Major Warner Bros. titles like The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (June 4) and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights (June 11) both arrive this month. So too do some interesting documentaries like Revolutionary Rent on June 15 and Lfg on June 24. The former deals with the staging of the musical Rent in Cuba and the latter follows the U.S. women’s soccer team’s fight for equal pay.

The historic Music Hall Theater in Beverly Hills has been acquired by film distribution company Blue Fox Entertainment, which will renovate the three-screen complex for a planned October reopening.
Blue Fox, a 6-year old company based in Century City, sees taking over a long-term lease on the theater as a natural extension of its independent film distribution and sales business. Blue Fox owner James Huntsman says “People are going to be blown away” when they see the new design for the theater, which is the only multiplex operating in the city of Beverly Hills.
Built in 1936 and opened in 1937, the art deco landmark had been part of Laemmle Theaters until 2019, when a trio of Laemmle vets took over briefly to run it as the Lumiere until the Covid pandemic closed down theaters.
Huntsman says there’s a need in Los Angeles for space for premieres, special screenings and four-wall bookings.

Along with the Super Bowl Sunday, Labor Day Weekend is considered an annual box-office nadir. And with no new films opening in more than 1,000 theaters, this year looked self-fulfilling prophecy. Even so, and without a hit on the level of last year’s “Crazy Rich Asians,” the falloff looks like only a little more than 10% from last year.
That’s surprising on a weekend that, on paper, looked to be the worst of 2019 — especially with the projected hurricane preparation damage in the Southeast. Instead, it was about $88 million, far from terrible; the worst was around $60 million, early this century.
This leaves the summer season essentially flat from last year — up or down 1%-2% from last year, depending on whether one includes the last week of April when, like last year, a huge Marvel hit opened. That leaves annual grosses about 6.5%, or $530 million, below last year.
Eight of the top 10 titles dropped 30% or less.

Fairly early in “Killerman,” , writer-director Malik Bader (“Cash Only”) more or less announces that he’s seen every gritty ‘70s crime drama that you have, and maybe a few that you missed, and he’s intent on distilling the down-and-dirty essence of those blasts from the past in a derivative yet dynamic mashup. In other words, he gives you fair warning, and he’s true to his word.

Liam Hemsworth takes a machete stab at playing a furious antihero in writer-director Malik Bader’s testosterone-soaked crime thriller “Killerman,” a movie made by men, about simplistically ruthless men, aimed to entice other men aching for those manly outdated movies “they don’t make anymore,” where distorted alpha masculinity was solely portrayed through vicious violence, gratuitous sex, and impenetrable coldness.
Tired of the minimal cut they receive from money laundering in NYC, gracelessly ambitious Skunk (Emory Cohen) and well-groomed hustler Moe (Hemsworth) plan to make their own big move buying cocaine for cheap with money that belongs to Skunk’s uncle, an archetypical kingpin played by Zlatko Buric (“Teen Spirit”). Among the many colorful celebrity cameos that pop up in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” is cinema martial-arts icon Bruce Lee, portrayed by Mike Moh in the film. Tarantino drops Lee into the movie’s milieu of the major Hollywood players of the late 1960s, and though Moh’s appearance is brief, he manages to be quite memorable.
According to a new interview with Moh in Birth. Movies. Death., the actor has actually auditioned to play Bruce Lee before, and so he was ready to embody the Hong Kong-American actor’s accent — and, of course, his inimitable onscreen gravitas.
“I’m not going to tell you what the original script had exactly, but when I read it, I was so conflicted because he’s my hero,” Moh said. “Bruce in my mind was literally a god. He wasn’t a person to me, he was a superhero.

"You opened us up to this, you will finish it." Blue Fox Entertainment has debuted an official trailer for the indie action thriller Killerman, the latest from director Malik Bader. This twisted, gritty crime thriller is about a guy named Moe Diamond, who wakes up after a car accident without any memory of who he is. His colleague reminds him that he is a money launderer, and they're in trouble because some bad cops tried to set them up with dirty money. Now they all want him dead so he goes on the run in NYC. Liam Hemsworth stars as Moe, with Emory Cohen, Diane Guerrero, Suraj Sharma, Mike Moh, and Zlatko Buric. This has pretty much every last bad crime flick trope stuffed in - including awful grainy, out-of-focus footage and even a sniper guy with a big ass gun (but why?). This film looks Doa. Here's the first...

Organizers of the American Film Market are limiting access at the headquarters Loews Hotel to the official Afm participants, Variety has leaned.
When the 39th Afm starts on Oct. 31, admittance to the Loews will be strictly limited to those with credentials. In the past, attendees coming into the hotel lobby in Santa Monica, Calif., have been forced to deal with a wide variety of unsolicited pitches from unofficial sources.
In earlier years of the film market, sales agents and producers having business meetings in the lobby bar were infamously beseiged by uncredentialed wannabes flogging scripts or seeking acting roles.
Jonathan Wolf, who is starting his third decade as Afm managing director, told Variety that the move is in response to attendees’ concerns. “The lobby of the Loews should be the epicenter of the Afm but nobody wanted to be in the lobby,” he added.

Exclusive: In a competitive situation, UK producer and financier Hindsight Media, backer of The King’s Speech and BBC TV series Wolf Hall, has acquired horror pitch Saci by A Christmas Prince scribe Nate Atkins.
Based on a well-known character from Brazilian folklore, the “Saci” is the spirit of an Afro-Brazilian slave boy who ripped his leg off to free himself from chains. The character, often depicted as one-legged, with holes in the palms of his hands and wearing a magical red cap that enables him to disappear and reappear wherever he wishes, has spawned books, comics and songs in Brazil.
Atkins is developing the story with Rodrigo Brandao who will also executive produce. Jon Kanak (Slumber), who reps Atkins, will produce alongside Hindsight Media. While most of us are out here braving the cold Winter weather, Liam Hemsworth is back in Malibu soaking up the sun. Following his trip to NYC with Miley Cyrus last month, the actor hit the beach for a day of surfing on Thursday. If it's possible, we think Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are much cuter now than they were when they first got together. Not only did the couple have an adorable day date on Saturday when they returned to the place where they first met, but they also reignited those wedding rumors in the process. Liam is currently filming his new movie, Killerman, on Tybee Island in Savannah, Ga, and his fiancée visited him for an afternoon of jet-skiing. Miley and Liam, who met on the island while filming The Last Song in 2009, got a fellow jet-skier to snap a few photos of them before the "Younger Now" singer appeared to approve them on her phone. Miley flashed her stunning engagement ring, which was paired with what looked like a matching diamond wedding band. Liam was also wearing a simple band on that finger. It's very possible they're just wearing promise rings,...
