Farmhouse Kitchen (1971)

Trivia

Farmhouse Kitchen

Edit
"The Complete Farmhouse Kitchen Cook Book" by Mary Watts was issued, and contains over 1000 traditional and country recipes, which were chosen from the many thousands sent in by viewers of the Yorkshire Television programme, "Farmhouse Kitchen". Recipes combine past traditions with present-day thinking, and represent the best of traditional British food. Traditional recipes are ones which have survived the years, and they are brought up-to-date with new healthy versions in this book. Traditional country skills include: baking bread; making preserves, cheese and butter; and brewing beer and country wines. The recipes range from dinner party fare to everyday family meals.
The memorable, vibraphone-heavy theme music was "Fruity Flutes" by Reg Wale, which is his most well known composition. It was performed by The Reg Wale Group, consisting of Reg Wale on drums, John Scott (as Johnny Scott) on flute, Bill Bramwell on guitar and Bernie Woods on bass.
Following the death of Dorothy Sleightholme in a car accident, Grace Mulligan took over presenting duties.
