I know that Madden games these days are mostly "roster updates", but I will gladly view them as such because, let's face it, we want the new players/rankings each year.
I found Madden 18 to be a very solid installment in the franchise. I didn't get a chance to play as much this year as in past years, but the times I did indulge I found it to be everything I wanted from a Madden game.

I have never experienced a company as greedy as EA sports. The game has continued the new trend of the franchise of making the best packs available for insane amounts of real life money. This started to get out of hand in Madden 17, but this is almost exclusively pay to win. There is no way that a person who spends no money can win a game against a person who does buy the packs because the cards are just too good. Now to get into the gameplay itself. In my opinion, it far surpasses Madden 17, but is still atrocious. Every single juke animation works no matter how good or bad the card is. For a specific example, I have seen 97 overall mel blount get spun out of his shoes by the gold leonard fournette card. Thats all i will say about that.
Also on the topic of animations, catching this year is also reliant on getting lucky animations. There is no consistency no matter the receiver. Besides the laughably ridiculous juking, madden also decided to introduce ball carrying traits. For some reason , when I shift the ball carrying to conservative, which means there is a less chance of fumbling, but also less chance of breaking a tackle, my back ends up fumbling the ball more often! What? Not only is EA greedy, they are mentally slow. The greediness and retardation needs to stop. The game needs to go back to being about skill, not luck. No wonder EA has been voted worst company in the U.S.. Madden sucks. Fix it.
