If you'd translate the German title of the show, the initials would be the ones I used in my summary headline. You have brother (which can be seen and interpreted a couple of ways I reckon), and then you have black power ... well this means more dark power I assume. As in how something can suck you in (so maybe even a black hole of power and corrupting energy?).
The show has really good acting - Sibel who some may know either from her Fatih Akin breakthrough performance or her prior career (in the adult business) ... maybe both. Have to admit, never watched any of that stuff. It only goes to show you that you can make it mainstream too - there should not be any judgement anyway.
There is a bit of cliche storytelling though ... the actors try their best to make you forget about it - and mostly they succeed. There is one scene where a German looking individual is verbally going against muslims for not being ... well muslim enough. The side players and actors who give him lip back ... the way they act ... incredible! Maybe they are not acting and it is how they are - either way great casting, very well written.
And the show is not afraid to go places that are dark too ... police violence, terror ... and violence. Which is quite the feat - not just because it is a german tv show, but because it is the public tv station that did sponsor this ... and made this of course. Kudos ... I kiss your neck (which is what the youth of today is saying as a sign of respect in Germany, in case you're wondering)
