Btech is okay film. Too much dragging. Main plot comes only in last 30 minutes. Even though more than half of the film runs without story it was watchable. Even the message in climax is not presented properly. Best performance was from Arjun Ashokan, son of Harisree Ashokan.
Movie was an average one. Asif Ali's, Arjun Ashokan's & Kannada actor Harish Raj's performance was commendable.

I didn't get bored watching this film. The film is OK, could have been made better. Especially the twist and the climax. Songs were also nice, though not top-notch.

The film B. Tech is a cinematic work belonging to the romantic drama thriller genres, directed by Mridul Nair.
The narrative commences with the introduction of Azaad, a young individual who enrols in an engineering college in Bangalore. He subsequently becomes part of a group of Malayali students who have been pursuing their supply exams for an extended period. The group's primary gathering place is a Malayali hotel situated in front of the college. Azaad is depicted as an innocent character from a disadvantaged background who demonstrates academic excellence. However, the group members are experiencing a decline in their academic motivation.
The film then focuses on campus life, including classes, examinations, conflicts, romance and leisure activities. Once, the group visits Azaad's village and learns that he was raised in an orphanage and has only a sister. His financial needs are met by natives. In the second half, Azaad is killed in a bomb blast after returning from the village. The police then accuse Azaad and the other Muslims in the gang, despite a lack of concrete evidence. In response, the students organise protests and various programmes, seeking to uncover the truth behind the bomb incident.
The narrative was engaging, the direction satisfying, and the performances noteworthy. Additionally, the musical scores and comedy scenes were impressive. However, there were some instances of mass masala items and clichés, which detract from the overall quality of the production. Nonetheless, it is a valuable resource for one-time watching.

B. Tech starts making its point only after the first 90 minutes which it uses to narrate the daily lives of a bunch of slackers currently finding it unable to complete their Engineering studies. When one of their group members is accused of being a suicide bomber, the leader of the gang (Asif Ali), who has been slacking off for close to eight years now, vows to prove it wrong and fight for his friend and companion against the prosecution's prejudiced ways. Bollywood recently had a very similar film - Anubhav Sinha's Mulk (2018) - where he focuses on the idea of 'Islamic terrorism', which is the central topic here as well. But I don't understand why director Nair had to waste 90 minutes of his viewers or even turn this into a film. Much like how Mulk suffered from a poor container for its important message, B. Tech suffers from incongruity and fails to have an impact on its audience because of the vast difference in the two halves that make his debut feature film. The comedy, the songs, and the decent performances can all be counted, but that's not the point here. As a viewer, if those parameters matter to you the most, then B. Tech will be a treat. Otherwise, it's a film that could have been an article on Medium. Give it some claps and move on. TN.

The director have no clue what he is doing. Very predictable cliche storyline. Some message they want to send out by this film, but its not at all convincing and is full of errors. Really bad. Stay away!!!

I am sure the script is written by a primary school kid .Got bad headache even before the half time .I am sure the initial ratings in imdb are "managed" just to get some additional footfalls in the theatre
This movie sickened me to the hardcore! There is a huge difference between being a rebel and being plain arrogant coward who has zero respect for humanity! The movie wanted to portray gang of young men who takes matter on to their own hands when it comes to societal pressure and norms, but instead the main character was just a plain old bully! He is rude to his friends and bullied them if he feels opposed to anything they feel or do. He bullies his team of friends the whole time! He degrades them throughout the movie. He beats up anyone and everyone! The worst was he had zero respect for his counterpart. What a toxic relationship! He did not consider her feelings one bit. He was cold hearted and manipulative while the poor girl keeps giving her whole soul to an emotionally and manipulative thug. What kind of story line is this? There is huge difference in standing up for what you believe in than degrading your counterpart as she is the scum of earth. For him, even meeting up with her seemed as a task. He was angry around her and keep stepping on her feelings. The character can be still chivalrous even if they had a fallout. Let's say the Asif Ali's character had relationship troubles but still he could have been respectful and showed remorse than pure disdain towards his love interest. He can walk out but in an expressive way where he states he was disrespected and they could have sat down and talked about their future as he is truly committed to her with all his heart and soul and when the time comes right, he will marry her than just yelling at everyone and throwing the bank cards at her. How disrespectful! He is portrayed as he does not value her while she considers him as her lifeline.
Niranjana Anoop had zero addition to the movie. She was just used to parade around for no reason. Yes, later she developed feelings for the newcomer to the group who was portrayed as a sweet, innocent, no wrongdoing kid. Again, the characters play typical roles. Aparna Balamurali'S portrayal is the most heartbreaking. The only revelation the movie showed was a warning to young men and women how toxic relationships work. Value yourself and love yourself than let a man or woman degrade your self worth. It was so painful to watch! Finally, they tied the movie to Hindi vs Muslim problematic scenario and tried to make Asif Ali as a hero. How?! The whole movie, he is an arrogant, conceited, narcissistic, egocentric thug . How can the audience be expected to root for him? The audience cannot even relate to this psychopath! What a horrible, horrible storyline. Whoever wrote this storyline needs a lesson in empathy, charisma, selflessness otherwise, do not create a hero based storyline. Poor, distasteful writing!!!

I'm not going to lie. Initially, the movie comes off an a typical "iddi padam", and rightly so. A good two thirds of the film are spent with the main characters smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol and getting into fights. While you might find all of that a bit dry or unpleasant while watching it, this first block of the film is essential in building the foundation of the plot and the backstories of the characters. I think that the knowledge that the viewer picks up about the characters during the first part of the film is what heightens the effect of the the second portion of the film. You get so attached to the characters that when you reach the turning point in the film, it hits you like a train. Like man, I was absolutely wrecked. If you keep watching this movie you won't be disappointed. I feel sorry for anyone who sits down to watch this film, and gets up before the turning point in the film, because they've missed out BIG TIME.
