Goofs

The Old Guard

Edit

Continuity

At around 3:13 minutes into the movie, Booker is checking into a hotel in Morocco with Andy. In the background a character can be seen disappearing entirely as he is talking to the clerk.

Factual errors

Incorrectly regarded as a goof. Nile uses the phrase AWOL (Absent Without Leave), except the Marines use the phrase UA (Unauthorized Absence) - AWOL is a term widely known, while UA is not, so the film makers were just making sure that the viewers knew what the character meant.
Copley and Nile park their car on a double yellow line in central London, but half an hour later the car hasn't even been ticketed, much less towed away.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When the female Marine character named Nile has her throat cut the other Marine calls for a Medic, repeatedly. Marines receive medical treatment from Navy hospital corpsmen, but the filmmakers may have used the more recognizable term "medic" because an average viewer may not know this.

Revealing mistakes

The French cemetery has a lot of Celtic crosses, which are extremely rare in France outside of Normandy.
When the A6 drives across the grass in 'Surrey', tracks from previous runs of both the car and the filming vehicle can be seen in the grass.
The car used in the scenes in France has a number plate with the F for France (in the blue segment on the left) but the actual number NJSW-68-R bears no resemblance to a French registration.
While in the pharmacy, Andy (Charlize Theron) places at least a dozen items in her hand basket, but after being treated by the clerk for her wound, she leaves without taking anything with her.

Miscellaneous

In the scene in Surrey, England, where they are driving across the grassy field going to the mansion, the car used has curved down exhaust tips, indicating its a diesel model, but the sound is petrol engine sound and later when they come out of the car the exhaust tips are straight indicating it is indeed a petrol version of the car.

Errors in geography

When pitching the South Sudan job to Andy and Booker, Copley states that the kidnapping occurred at a school southwest of Juba. Immediately thereafter, he places a newspaper covering the incident onto the table, which reveals the location of the attack to have been Mundri region. Mundri is northwest of Juba, not southwest.
The abandoned mine where Andy takes her team to is in, or close to Val d'Argent, which is located in the Haut-Rhin department. She mentions that she had found the place during the Baussenque wars in the XIIth century, but these wars took place in the Provence region, some 550 km further south.

Plot holes

When Booker hands Andy the unloaded HK USP, she should have noticed. Anyone as familiar with weapons as she is would notice the weight difference between an unloaded gun and a loaded one. The balance of the gun without bullets in a polymer handle would also be very noticeable. Nile, as a marine, also would have noticed when Andy gave it to her.
At the end of the movie Andy says that she suspects that she lost her immortality when Nile got hers. However, after Nile's abduction by Andy, she tries to escape and stabs Andy. This wound apparently didn't leave a mark. So Andy either lost her power to heal after Nile has gotten hers or the two events are not connected.

Character error

After the first confrontation, (33 min in) Nile fails to retrieve her weapon, the knife Andy pulls from her upper arm and throws to the ground. Nile passes it by and follows Andy to the automobile.
