Dona Oldina Vai às Compras (2018)

Trivia

Dona Oldina Vai às Compras

Edit
Originally produced as one of the segments for a never-released sequel to the anthology of horror stories 13 Weird Stories (2015)
Oldina Cerutti Do Monte has a relative fame in the Brazilian independent movie scene for starring in trash movies after she completed 80 years of age. Because of this, director Felipe M. Guerra judged that she would be one of the only people capable of surviving a Zombie Apocalypse. Therefore, Mrs. Oldina appears as "herself" in the short.
When Oldina Cerutti Do Monte wears the Hazmat Suit, the actress is replaced by her daughter Neusa Guerra, who is 25 years younger. Neusa is the mother of director Felipe.
The book that Mrs. Oldina is reading is "Yo, Pecador" (I, Sinner), the self-biography of the Mexican movie star turned monk José Mojica. In real life, Oldina Cerutti Do Monte is a big fan of Mojica.
The film marks the second time that Felipe M. Guerra and Joel Caetano have worked together since they shared the direction of D.R. (2012) (here Joel was responsible for color grading).
