“Killing Eve” star Kirby Howell-Baptiste is coming to the Good Place.

The actress, who plays Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh)’s co-worker and best friend Elena on the critically-acclaimed BBC America drama, has landed a recurring role on Season 3 of “The Good Place,” a rep for NBC told TheWrap Friday.

Howell-Baptiste will play Simone, and make her first appearance in the Season 3 premiere. Simone works with Chidi (William Jackson Harper) at the Australian university where he is a professor. Creator Mike Schur told Entertainment Weekly that Chidi approaches Simone to “figure out if there’s something wrong with his brain.”

In addition to “Killing Eve,” Howell-Baptiste has recently appeared in HBO’s “Barry,” Netflix’s “Love” and was in the Freeform pilot “Girls Code.”

“The Good Place” Season 3 premieres on NBC on Sept. 27.

Entertainment Weekly was first to report Howell’s casting.

Freeform has given a pilot order to Everything’s Gonna Be Okay, a half-hour comedy from Please Like Me creator, writer and comedian Josh Thomas, Avalon Television and Freeform Studios.

Created and written by and starring Thomas, Everything’s Gonna Be Okay centers on Nicholas (Thomas), a typical 25-year-old still living at home with his single dad and two teenage half-sisters, who is not particularly helpful in raising his siblings, one of which has autism. However, when their dad becomes terminally ill, the girls have to cope with not only a devastating loss but also the realization that Nicholas is the one who will have to hold it all together.

Jon Thoday, and Richard Allen-Turner serve as executive producers for Avalon Television. Stephanie Swedlove and Kevin Whyte also serve as executive producers. Produced by Avalon Television and Freeform Studios, it will be distributed internationally by Avalon Distribution if picked up to series.

Exclusive: The cast for Universal and Working Title’s untitled Danny Boyle-directed, Richard Curtis-scripted comedy keeps expanding with Sophia Di Martino (Channel 4’s Flowers), Joel Fry and Harry Michell (Chubby Funny) joining the already announced Lily James, Himesh Patel, Kate McKinnon and Ana de Armas.

Di Martino plays the role of Carol who is the best friend to Lily James’ character. Storyline is under wraps. This movie has come together quite quickly for a Sept. 13, 2019 release considering there’s been solid talk out there that Boyle is bound for Bond. The 25th 007 title is scheduled for release two months after this romantic comedy on Nov. 8 next year.

Uni Evp of Production Erik Baiers has been overseeing this project. Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing alongside Matt Wilkinson and Bernie Bellew. Curtis and Boyle will also produce.

Exclusive: In her first U.S. TV starring vehicle, Salma Hayek Pinault is set to topline and executive produce a comedy series project executive produced and directed by Paul Feig. The comedy, from Imagine Television, is in negotiations at Amazon. I hear it is eying a pilot commitment to series.

Written by Patty Breen (HBO’s Divorce), the potential series takes place in London and is set in the world of international diplomacy, with Hayek Pinault in an ambassador-type role.

Hayek Pinault executive produces with her longtime producing partner Jose “Pepe” Tamez via her Ventanarosa Productions banner. Feig and Jessie Henderson executive produces via Feigco Entertainment alongside Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo.

Hayek Pinault, who was a TV and film star in her native Mexico before making a name for herself in Hollywood, has recurred on ABC’s dramedy Ugly Betty, which she executive produced, as well as on NBC’s 30 Rock.

The project follows the odd couple partnership between two former MIT lab partners – Wendy (Di Martino), a brazen, self-centered tech CEO, and Angela (Howell-Baptiste), a community-building social entrepreneur – who must try to overcome their many issues and unfavorable history with each other in order to run a groundbreaking, all-female tech incubator.

Also joining the cast are Hayley Magnus as Wendy’s upbeat, ambitious and hypercompetent assistant Johanna; Andy Buckley as Wendy’s mentor who often fills a paternal role for her; and Rene Gube as the burnt-out but hardworking chief operating officer of Lighthouse Industries.
