Weak production values, but a good story with authentic dialogue. If your Irish that have lived abroad, you'll get this movie more. Seemed like watching characters on stage play. Easy to follow.
Not a masterpiece by any means. The dangers of the drink is real. Ha ha.

Slow movie, not funny, not brilliant.....actually not well made......DEFINITELY people involved with the film were the 10 out of 10 movie reviews.
Throughout the film a caracter named Timmy Thomas kept saying things like ....."Timmy Thomas said no", instead of "I said no".....the Irish accents were so overdone that you got a headache.
As Timmy Thomas would say....."TIMMY THOMAS SAYS THIS FILM IS TERRIBLE"
Twenty minutes into this I was a little confused with where it was going, but holy smokes it gets insane!!! The production value is low, it must have been a low budget movie, but the story is really original and Ruby is worth the $5 alone. The opening credits with Timmy Thomas eating an orange is so weird!!

I only watched this film because I was curious about the reviews it had got on IMDB. Nearly everybody seemed to think that this was as good a film as it was possible to be. Better than The Godfather, Citizen Kane,... you do the rest.
I was right to have my doubts. As an Irishman, I am sick to death of our people being constantly portrayed as drunks and criminals on the grounds that we all know how charming alcoholism and criminality are when accompanied by awful 'diddley' music .
This is obviously an amateur production, which shouldn't be a problem, and the film ought to be given a fair chance, but... the wildly wide of the mark reviews turn it into a scam no more imaginative than the storyline.
I found it embarrassingly written and acted, but even then I'd still have given it 2 stars if not for the fake reviews. My review does not contain spoilers because I cannot imagine how this film could be spoiled anymore than it already is.

Found Misty Button really enjoyable from start to finish.
Had me in laughter for the majority of the movie!!
Well done all!

Sorry to all the whiners complaining that not all Irish are drunks, we're not violent, blah, blah. Get over yourself and watch the film for what it is, a low budget, great story, that thankfully was created. Ignore the crybaby bad reviews that are about stuff OTHER than the movie.
I found it hilarious through most, a little upsetting at one point, and surprised at the end. I often have trouble finding all that in big budget films with big budget actors.
A movie truly worth watching.

I originally had set my rating at 8/10, but after looking it up online and learning that they shot this movie in NINE days I had to change it.
Firstly I randomly found this on Prime last night and since my parents were Irish decided to watch it. I was blown away from start to finish and was bent over laughing through out. Timmy Thomas played by an actor I remembered seeing on Boardwalk Empire is one of my favorite characters ever!! Holy smokes that guy has an unique look. The two male leads and the girl (Ruby) are all incredible too.
That said it is a low budget Indie. If you are looking for the Fast and the Furious this isn't for you. There is also a lot of profanity and drug use and terrible decisions are made. This movie is not for everyone, and people that like slapstick comedies will hate it. But if you're looking for a new cult classic this movie blows Boondock Saints out of the water, and unlike BS all the Irish people in this movie are FROM IRELAND.

By far the best thing I've watched during this god forsaken pandemic! An absolute riot from start to finish (I don't do reviews but made an exception for this little gem)

You'll either LOVE it or you'll HATE it, but you should watch it. The Irish prove that they are still the Kings and Queens of the Dark Comedy genre. Great twist you won't see coming.
For someone that grew up off McLean Avenue this film was such a treat. I met the cast when they were filming and they couldn't have been nicer. They showcased the neighborhood beautifully with the Woodlawn graveyard being the star of the show. The villains were also based out of a Pet store on Katonah which was hilarious. I had no idea how dark this film was going to get but it was also hilarious at the same time. Well done to all involved and I hope they return to shoot the sequel!!!!
PS Timmy Thomas eating the orange at the beginning had my husband and me in stitches. And the Irish music was brilliant!

Seanie Sugrue is the Irish Quentin Tarintino. He has written a highly intelligent screenplay and has cast and directed an excellent 'no name' cast. The balance he strikes between humor and darkness is nothing short of brilliant. Misty Button is a thriller and a comedy! It is bound for success. I must wonder what Sugrue has in store for a next. If you don't know of him, you will. Mark my words...

It was shot in nine days on a budget that was missing at least 2 zeros. Congrats to the entire team.

Funny start to finish with many twists you don't see coming. Never a dull moment.
Great writing and entertainment from start to finish. Are you an Irish person prone to making bad decisions when you're out drinking? You need to see this movie!

Exceptional film. Unique story line with many twists and turns. Great characters played by terrific actors. Don't miss seeing it.
I lived in the Bronx in the summer of 2006 and I was so nostalgic watching this. They shot it on a low budget but the comedy and acting was so strong that it was as good as anything you would see at the cinema. The lead James looks like Colin Farrell and I can't believe they had the other lad smoking crack in a church!!!!
The music was fab and I loved that they used The Leaving of Liverpool at the end. It reminded me of In Bruges, but in Woodlawn!!

In a world full of recycled superhero movies what a breath of fresh I found last night. This Indie is unlike anything I have seen in the last twenty years. It is fresh, thought provoking and hilarious.
That said a lot of people that are more into the Avengers and cheesy Rom Com's will probably hate it. Two different people suggested this film to me and I'm excited that this "dark horse" is getting discovered. It has cult classic written all over it. The scene with Stevie selling Owen craic outside a church stole the show for me. WATCH THIS MOVIE!
