Nicolas Cage is a big fan of the movie. He called Jim Cummings after watching it, and according to Cage they instantly became friends.
Based on 2016 short film of the same name, which premiered and won an award at the Sundance Film Festival.
The beginning of the film is a recreation of the original short film.
Before shooting, Jim Cummings recorded the whole script, doing different voices for each character, and sent it to the cast and crew to play off.
