Trivia

The Electric State

Edit
The mall used as the robot safe haven is North DeKalb Mall in North Decatur, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. It opened in 1965 and closed in 2020 before being demolished in mid 2024. The mall had previously been used in episodes of Loki and Cobra Kai as well as the Fear Street trilogy and feature films Civil War, The Mule and Zombieland: Double Tap.
When Keats goes into "Greaser's Diner" to try to order something to eat, the "Specials" board suggests customers to "Have a byte of Pi" for $3.14159265359.
Whenever a drone's heads up display is shown, the sound effect is the same as the terminator's heads up display from Terminator franchise.
Michelle Yeoh was originally cast but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. The role was reworked and her former co-star, Ke Huy Quan, took over.
Despite its large robot cast, The Electric State used no actual animatronics or puppets-every robot is CGI. Co-director Joe Russo explained the choice was made because animatronics supposedly "would've cost five times as much," a claim that raises eyebrows given the film's staggering $320 million budget.
