The Crown of the Kings

I am very pleased that we can watch historical production . Tvp finally is doing what they should do from begining. They should take facus to produce this kind of movies . When I was young I grow watching " Pan Wolodyjowski" , " Ogniem i Mieczem" they're very good production, at now with "Korona Krolow" I can one more time move to very old time when Poland gold age showing how Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, make one of the largest countries in Europe at the time I just do not understand why this series is not available on blu-ray, it is joke we have 21 century. Tvp please do something with it , unfortunately dvd version is not enough any more.

Tells history of Poland across ages with all the Kings, Queens who ruled, all the wars fought and about the common folk on mercy of those in power.

It is, certainly not a documentary - there has been a bit of humor added to it and is filmed in a way that makes it easier on the head.

I am not quite sure about all the negative reviews, please consider the budget per episode in this show is tiny in comparison to the most popular global shows admired by people and I'd say producer has done a great job distributing those resources in order to get the final product that was achieved.

If you like history, middle ages: Kingdoms, Kings, Queens and that type of scene I would recommend watching. Episodes last around 20 minutes each so can easily be watched during meals or at work.

After a few poor episodes, it is really growing on me. Actors play better every episode, dialogues are more logical and there are more and more interesting plots. Even though the series has a lot of smaller and bigger issues (which are mostly the result of small budget) i really like it. For sure it doesn't deserve that small rating - voting is political because the producer of this TV show is Polish National Television. For me the real rating should be somewhere between 5 and 7 (I gave it 10 to make higher average).

89% of Google users liked this show, so Michal Levandowski's 1/10 rating is farcical. Yes, it is produced by Telewizja Polska (public Polish Television), but it's a historical drama with a plot that has nothing to do with the current political climate and PiS' influence.

The costuming and set-dressing are absolutely stunning and while not quite on the level of a BBC or Masterpiece production, for those of us looking for tv/movies delving into the story of the Polish monarchy, it is a wonderful slice of dramatic interpretation served with a side of sumptuous surroundings.

There are some subpar episodes and it is of course a dramatized depiction of history, but overall it makes for great casual viewing.
