Lying Posture of a Lion

Using sound as a key element, this is a dark, jangling, jarring, enigmatic and existential journey in experimental filmmaking that may not be for many, although it was done well. When searching in shadowy corners away from the beaten path there are things that are different, odd, strange or out-of-left-field as well as projects that push the creative envelope. If Horror/Thriller applies, then Mystery/Suspense does as well. The cinematography as well as the journey itself seems shadowy and mysterious, somewhat off-kilter and just beyond normal focus, showing that what is being sought is hidden and out of reach, yet also alive and breathing, oozing blackly from every pore.

Sound was such a big chunk in the assembly of this creation that it is like another character. It is so defining that I only just realized I never saw anything truly horrific take place. Moving around from person to person, place to place and throughout various philosophic dialogues, I rarely if ever noticed tension between characters, only that held by the main character. It was only through the call of imposing, ominous blasts from the netherworld of the dark psyche, like the trumpeting blare of immense horns signaling apocalyptic dread that I knew something was wrong. Something was very pressing and demanded attention and it wasn't taking no for an answer.

It wasn't as though the sound was so much like another character; it in fact was what the character felt. The entire piece could well be an allegory of the mind itself, an angst-ridden search for solution through truth.
