This is the first "Lupin III" feature where Lupin wears all the different colored jackets (green, red, pink, blue) that he has had over his animated history.
This series is set in France, Lupin III's ancestral homeland (and the home of his grandfather Arsene Lupin, himself a renowned thief).
Inspector Zenigata's subordinate in this series, ICPO detective Goro Yatagarasu, is named after Zenigata's most famous voice actor Gorô Naya.
Lupin wears a special monocle gadget in this series. His grandfather, gentleman thief Arsene Lupin, was known for wearing a monocle as part of his style.
