Youtube is mostly just clickbait and reposts of clickbait at this point, so it's nice to see genuinely talented creators introducing something new to the website. The only reason I gave it a 9/10 is because of some minor (but noticeable) imperfections. Some performances are noticeably better than others (imo the best performances are from Sebastian, Andrew, Angela, Mindy, and Jack) and the lighting leaves something to be desired, but the cast and crew have clearly poured their heart and soul into this project. That's more than can be said about a lot of garbage shows on the internet right now. If this series were to become more popular, I would love to see them reproach this property with a bigger budget. The show is great but there is a lot of untapped potential there.
This is a great show that was recommended to me on YouTube one day. I clicked Yeah and it started playing, and it struck me how much the world exists. You get the sense these people are real and they have their problems and they have their strengths and you really get behind them. I like the small town vibe, i am from a small town in Ohio. Even when you're in the slower scenes you're ready to follow these characters into hell. I mean this show does not pull punches and it doesn't let up when it gets dark and mean. I like that one shot of the dark ocean and the fence that JR stands on, ready to throw himself into the void. It's things like these show that keep me hooked to something, i need that real connection to the characters and i get it. Looking forward to more of what they put out when they put it online.
I just finished the first series and I must say , it's a rather unique series drenched in depth, character, and colour. With an impressive set of writer(s) and great actors, this series quakes with confidence. It's lovely to see something good coming out of the low budget film scene today. A soaking example of amateur film making at it's best. My husband and I are loving it and J.R. if you're reading this, please make series two!
As an actor and writer myself I always look for new independent projects and for actors and filmmakers to pay attention to. J.R. Fortin and his team have crafted something truly special. While the technical aspects are not perfect (although I would go as far to say that most first seasons of a show have things they need to improve on) The acting across the board is pretty stellar and the writing is what made it for me. My biggest hope is that I can become part of this show and join in on what Maine Event Films is trying to create. Congratulations to the entire team.
Showed my kids (15m) (16f) episode 4 "Lights Out" and now they're stoked. Fortin really knows how to construct an epic fight scene. Reminds me a lot of the fights scenes in John Wick. Season 1 was a little short but I appreciate what's been put out so far.
