Chris Walley and Alex Murphy in The Young Offenders (2018)

Trivia

The Young Offenders

Edit
P.J. Gallagher, who plays Principal Barry Walsh, played Ray the Drug Dealer in the film.
As is usual with some BBC and RTE co-productions, such as Mrs Brown's Boys, and The Young Offenders, there are 2 versions of the exact same episode. The second series was first premiered online via the BBC Three online channel, as it was the main financial backer, then for the tv premieres of the exact same episodes, on the same day, RTE (Ireland TV Broadcast), which was usually an hour or 2 before the BBC One (UK TV broadcast), via their own BBC Three sub-channel. However the RTE (Ireland version), has the RTE logo at the start of the episode, where the BBC (UK version), uses the BBC Three logo. Additionally, as RTE runs adverts, there is an End of Part One/Part Two graphic inserted in the middle of the episode, where the BBC version has no advert insert graphics. Very rarely, some Irish slang may be anglicised, such as footwear "runners" becomes "trainers".
A retelling of the film written and directed by Peter Foott, 'Young Offenders' (2016).
