There is an engaging honest to this film, and it is this that makes it work better than it probably should. The core of it is a couple trying to have a moment like this used to have, although made more difficult by a baby in a crib in their bedroom. Struggles to get in the moment, anger and tiredness just below the surface, and of course a joy from the thing that is causing all the pain - all of this will be recognizable to anyone going through this situation.
This element is good enough to carry it though the part which doesn't quite ring true, which is the dialogue. It is too sharp, too snappy, and seems overly written to sit in such a real situation. The two actors make it work in the most part, but some small sections broke me out of the moment. That said, it is still honestly raw in the things included (from the tiredness through to having a shopping discussion during the act), and it is this that makes it funny and engaging.
