Shadow Wolves

The film centers on an elite force of Native American Shadow Wolves operatives and the story of their work with a CIA agent to prevent an impending terrorist attack

The story is a bit refreshing, as it's loosely based on the real-life Shadow Wolves, but the tacky dialogues, boring under-developed characters, and rather bland performances aren't enough to redeem it. The action sequences are poorly staged, and could use some good editing and steady camera work. The score is not memorable as you could hardly notice it, But the cinematography in some places is good; the lighting and color grading gives the scenes the right mood and atmosphere.

Overall, Shadow Wolves is a poor film with a good concept, but clumsily executed.

Can't Recommend

B-movie type film marked by stilted dialogue and cliched plot elements.

A terrorist leader, dying of a terminal illness, seeks revenge against a group of Native American trackers. During one of the Gulf Wars, the trackers had led the U.S. military to the home of the terrorist and subsequently a drone strike wiped out his family.

The trackers are now patrolling the U.S./Mexican border to try and stop the passage of drugs, human trafficking, and possible terrorist weapons. They are secretly being funded by a former fellow soldier who is now a Colonel with the NSA.

Overall, can't recommend this one.

A really poor job of directing

Despite the participation of Thomas Gibson and Graham Greene, this movie just could not be saved. It was a herky-jerky style of cinematography which is extremely annoying, bad editing, a non-existent soundtrack and really amateur directing. It's a shame because I always enjoy seeing a movie with a Native American cast. This movie just did not do them justice. Skip it it. Don't waste your time, this is a real low quality turkey.

Ex-Porn Stars

The actors have the worst monotone, scripted, unemotional delivery of their lines, like a bunch of stars trying to break into "real movies". It doesn't qualify as even a B movie, that would insult every B movie ever made.

Absolutely dire

Imagine Matt Stone and Trey Parker's brilliant Team America, only without the satire, humor, self awareness or interest. Filmed like a really , with dire scripts, leaden direction and with a cast who simply can't act - even the good actors seem aware they're taking part in a total turkey and are phoning in their performances. Stupdendously bad - a textbook lesson in bad drama.

Cliche and Uninformed

The movie was a entirely cliche. If I were Native American, Japanese, Mexican, or Arab I would be incredibly insulted at the way all of these groups were portrayed. The movie feels like it was written by an armchair Rambo (look that one up if you never have heard the phrase). There is absolutely nothing redeeming about this movie, it is a myopic look into terrorism, the drug trade, and anti-terrorist operations from someone who has no idea. The history spouting colonel was wrong . . . just so wrong . . . Lets make up history as we go along!

ISIS in Arizona ???

This garbage of a film was directed and acted by simple ametuers and 7 producers whose past investment efforts were just as bad ! To keep harping about Afghanistan and ISIS in the same story is realistically laughable, but not as much as the acting, and direction !

Please avoid this film unless you are sitting in the toilet with nothing else to do !

Do not recomend!

Technically and tactically lame! Storyline doesn't match up to practical current events. They leave weapons behind, just drops them and ever picks them up. List goes on. Google Play should reimburse me. The team is like ROTC at a online university! GI Jokes!

Disappointed

When I saw Thomas Gibson was in the film I thought great loved him in Criminal Minds. Very disappointed watched 1 hour but no real action. Who would go to the office dressed the way his assistant does in the US. What happened to the wardrobe people were they on another planet??? Very bad acting on the UK side couldn't they find anything better??

Enjoyed it

Great action movie. This is supposed to be a series and this is only the pilot. Hoping this gets turned into a series so we can see everyone's character develop along with the storylines. It's very on point with what's happening in the world today.

Can you make it past the 15min mark? I bet no

By that time you should realize just how amateur, campy and lame this backyard attempt at a movie is.

I can't reveal any more details as that's as far as I got.

Horrible dialogue

The actors aren't entirely bad and the plot could be OK. However all of the dialogue is 100% cliché and predictable. It makes the actors seem lame. And then there are the logical inconsistencies. Just for one simple example of a man is not down and he leaves his rifle right on the ground and continues to pursue the bad guy for hand to hand combat. The villain is 100% stereotype and very lame dialogue

WOW

WOW..... I believe you can reject most of the negative and critical reviews. They can't do justice to how utterley and completely mesmerisizingly rubbish this confusing, badly written, amateurishly acted gibberish is on so many levels it;s crazy.

Terrible just terrible, stay away from this mess.

Graham Greene and Thomas Gibson must be in dire need of money to be part of this.

Terrible actors; Gibson's assistant looks like a porn start. The coloring is weird. The dialogues just empty. The idea could have been good but that's about it.

Poorly filmed

Poor acting and no entertainment. I rather watch a documentary about Pablo Escobar over and over and understand it. This Shadow Wolves is not even a star but a sliver of a star rating. This movie needs suspense to put viewers on the edge of the seat wondering what will happen next instead of knowing what will happen before it happens. Need actors who can actually act and the scripts rewritten to make the movie worth at least a 6 star rating. Rambo movies and predator movies like that is entertaining and they need to use something like that type of action to get the rating up. More suspense the better and more action to be involved like chasing the get away person. They need to put Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Scherzinger and Charles Bronson action and it will be a good movie to enjoy.

Second Rate Shadows

I would prefer to write a positive review because the storyline for "Shadow Wolves" (2019) has great potential: coyotes crossing the U. S.-Mexico border illegally bringing God only knows what - including detonators or other potentially devastating devices, including dirty bombs - to annihilate a city, a suburb, an urban center for business or industry. Given our open border here in 2024, this prescient script might have provided a glimpse into a terrifying possibility.

But this is an amateurish film with a low-budget "made for TV" feel, poor quality in terms of camera work, editing, and soundtrack. It's nothing to miss this one, but if you do watch it, at least appreciate the idea of a Native American effort to protect our citizenry and principles of freedom and diversity a la "e pluribus unum."

looks cheap

Shadow Wolves is a group of Native American vigilantes led by Nabahe (Graham Greene) who protect the border from smugglers and terrorists. NSA agent Colonel Branson (Thomas Gibson) is running his own unsanctioned dark ops in his fight against ISIS.

This is bad and its greatest sin is that it looks cheap. I am surprised by some of the great actors that participated in this atrocity. McKay Daines seems to be a B-movie filmmaker who has a certain political bent towards the war on terrorism. I don't care about any of that but he has to make this good. It has to be fun and exciting. It has to be a compelling story. This is simply not.
