Bashira (2021)

Trivia

Bashira

Edit
Producer Steve Krone said in an interview "It's not a gory of violent horror film. I would describe it as more of a sort of supernatural kind of ghost story kind of horror film. It's based on a Japanese legend."
The script caused some controversy when it was tweeted by Twitter user Angry Asian Man that one line described the relationship of a "white girl" and "Asian guy" as "highly unrealistic... but this is a movie."
Producer Steve Krone says the film has about 38 speaking parts, which is a lot for a horror film. The crew totals about 60 people, most of whom, he says, are from Buffalo, NY where the movie was filmed.
Filming for Bashira will complete early 2018 and is scheduled to be released in theaters worldwide in the fall of 2019.
Dedicated in memory to Angel Marie Cobb and Jim Emswiller who both worked on the film and died shortly after wrap. Jim died in 2018 on the set of "A Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood" when he had a cardiac emergency on a balcony which caused him to fall over a railing to his death. Angel was killed in a drunk driving accident in November 2020 when the car she was a passenger in careened into Niagara Square in Buffalo, NY. This square is featured prominently in "Bashira".
