Roméo et Juliette

From Salzburg in 2008 comes this production of Romeo et Juliette, with two young singers, Villazon and Machaidze, under the baton of Yannick Nezet-Seguin. Good production, costumes, and ardent singing from the two lovers--sometimes a bit too ardent for comfort. Rolando Villazon has an attractive voice, but he forces it somewhat here and there. More restraint would be a good thing. Enjoyable experience all round.
