Besides the great inspirational lyrics and everything related to the song, the music video for "I Won't Back Down" is also worth seeing for
the gathering of musicians involved. It's part The Beatles and part The Traveling Wilburys, with the presences of George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Jeff Lynne (ELO), Mike Campbell, and being the lead of it all the great Tom Petty.
But it's Ringo Starr who steals the show as he keeps goofing around with a world map globe, going on the opposite direction of the lyrics about
"the world pushing me around" he does the pushing. And he's all smiles having a great time, and also performing with the band, all great talents. The visuals
show some inventive tricks, with Petty playing with a tiny box at the clip's bookends, and some chroma key bits that dates the video a lot. The song and
the people involved makes it all fun and interesting to watch. 8/10.
