The show was good. If you enjoyed hasan's homecoming special, you will enjoy this too. The presentation style is similar, but here he comments on current events (often niche, that other shows have not picked up on) .

It was always clear in Hasan Minhaj's appearances on The Daily Show, in his comedy specials and even in interviews that he has a certain vision and a message that he means to send.
It always seemed like he cared about informing viewers in different aspects of politics, immigrant culture, etc. in the funniest way possible
This show is just that but with a bigger budget and more screen time. If you enjoyed his work before, you'll LOVE this. If you didn't, check it out anyway, what do you have to lose.
This show deals with Hasan trying to spread awareness about the social issues and how they're impacting the common man.

I didn't know what to expect but ran out of shows to watch and came across this. I'm surprised by how low some of the ratings are.
You can tell the guy really cited his sources and looked into all sides. He makes it interesting to listen to him while discussing relevant issues,
I enjoyed it and also learned something along the way hence my 10 stars.

Been watching him since his college days on YouTube about a decade ago. Couldn't be more proud that he has his own show on Netflix. He has worked hard for this and was funny every step of the way. If you liked his material on The Daily Show, the '17 correspondents dinner, or his standup tour, then you'll like Patriot Act. People are going to compare him to John Oliver, complain that he's too political, he's not original, or about the use of his hands (I see you 1 star review). But let's be real: he brings his own perspective and presents the facts in a time where blatant lies are alternative facts. Can't wait for next week's episode.
This show takes the best of the Daily Show and Last week tonight, and puts it into 30 minutes of HILARIOUS info. Keep it up!

It is scary how much talent that the Daily Show continues to churn up, although Hasan Minhaj seems like a comedic star that was meant to shine regardless!
Like Hasan's own comedy (See Homecoming and the 2017 WHC Dinner) this show looks at issues beyond the unidimensional American perspective and includes very funny jokes that you sometimes have to Google to understand (Ex: Gandhi in South Africa); which is to say, it seeks to educate as much as it seeks to entertain, and it succeeds at both.
Patriot Act is as smart as it is funny, even when it deals with complicated topics, like the relationship of the US and Saudi Arabia and oil. Parallels with Last Week Tonight are inescapable, as it is about the same format really. But the distinction in the generational appeal is obvious, because the jokes in Patriot Act hark back to the wild world of the 1990s!
I hope this show sticks around for years, because it is another political comedy show that for some reason, treats political and cultural topics with the depth that mainstream media can't seem to come close to.

Hasan Minhaj ...I'm speechless. Patriot Act is refreshing, logical, open, and smart. I don't have cable so I'm not familiar with John Oliver but I've seen clips of Oliver. They're both smart and funny and call BS when they see it...perhaps thats the correlation. Anyway Hasan is doing more of a Ted Talk platform. He keeps you engaged. I feel like I walked about feeling more curious about the world. He's right up there with comedians like Colbert, Oliver and Stewart, who can smartly shine light on political issues.

Intellectually stimulating, funny, and entertaining. It's a new perspective on matters we already hear about on the news. Very well researched topics. The host and the writers are doing an amazing job. The show has credibility and I?m hooked :).

The show is nice and we do understand that the comedians make their money by scandalising certain issues, which to me is okay as well.
However, some of the information presented in the show is pretty biased and based on perspectives, stand alone news clips ( without the whole picture presented) and a critical opinion of the host.
If this all was done for the sake of comedy and everything was made fun of, it would be amazing. However, what disturbed me was the seriousness associated with some of the allegations that felt like a critique than comedy.
I hope comedy stays pure enough to avoid any politicians entering it. He have enough news channels that do such kind of comedy, don't need more.

A political show that has positioned itself on the far left of the spectrum, hence the young age of the audience (college students, high school students and teenagers).
The writing on Patriot Act is not bad, it's visuals are good and Hasan manages to entertain the audience by questioning right-wing politics with humor, but then, when it comes to the idiocy of the left, he makes up arguments centered around ethics, morals and guilt to justify those policies and idiologies, and completely leaves common sense and facts out of the conversation.
Patriot Act had potential, but ended up being another show that feels like ideological brainwashing.

This show is amazing, I love the way Hasan moves from subjects inside the same topic and the pace is just fantastic. Great blend between solid opinions and sarcastic jokes. The topics of each episode are very fresh and up to date. No doubt it's one of the best shows nowadays.

This show is just amazing! Hands down Hasan Minhaj is smart even though he said otherwise, he is witty even through so many political and hard news information or data that he delivers. I enjoy every minute and every episode. Couldn't wait for the next one!

Hassan minhaj keeps the viewer well informed and entertained as he reveals the truth behind so many well hidden agendas. Wonder why the mainstream news channels don't cover any of these things..Finally someone who just tells it like it is on a big platform!!!
This show feels very much like a labor of love for Minhaj, mixing political satire with a dash of stand-up, making for an absolute innovative treat of a show marinated with an Asian-Muslim flare that can only make for a more inclusive experience for viewers. A home run for Netflix for picking it up.
I was sceptic, to episodes in I felt like it might be a bit much, but god damn this is a good show. It is entertaining, informative and just the right amount of provocative. Hasan Minhaj would be a fantastic host for other shows, and he crushes this one. He does exactly what he intends to do, and he does it really well. Even if you do not need to watch it for the news-content, it is a hilarious show.

The show is amazing. It's smart, funny, disturbing and critical. Hasan Minaj is absolutely fantastic.
Now.. WHY? Why do you add this absolutely ridiculous canned laughter to the show? If a joke works, it works.. if it blows.. it blows. We are adults and we live in 2018, not 1970.
PLEASE drop the laugh track.. if you can't make it without the artificial laugh.. you'll probably not going to make it to the next season.. and that would be such a shame, because the show is really good.

This show is Netflix's attempt at cookie cutting the successful John Oliver show on HBO. It's not entirely awful though, but I feel like it needs to work harder on an identity unique to the host Hasan Minhaj.
-And what's with the constant camera changes during his monologue? It's so clunky.
Minaj feels mocking anyone whose ideology he doesn't personally agree with makes for good comedy. It should, but doesn't in this case.
