It is confirmed to be the final film in the "Huevos" film series after 15 years since the release of A Movie of Eggs (2005).
WILHELM SCREAM: Five and a half uses in the film. Two heard whenever a penguin slid away during a party; the very first is high-pitched. Then, when a penguin is pushed away by the Barba pirates' ship upon arrival, twice. Another high-pitched one when a penguin fell off the boat as Di sang the closing song. Finally, when Toto was thrown into the ice slide in the credits. This film has one of the most amount of Wilhelm screams in a film in recent years, all using the most popular version. They were all used by penguins in the Artic, except the last one.
According to the directors, the film was aimed to reach the highest-quality in the history of the franchise, and the Mexican animation industry as a whole. They even noted that each film increased in quality.
Unlike past entries, "Huevitos congelados" is the first film, and the only mainline one, to be released on streaming-only. This is due to COVID-19's impact, the rising success of streaming, and Huevocartoon's restructuring.
Bruno Bichir, the voice of Toto, also voiced Aniceto, an alebrije in Legend Quest: The Origin (2022) by Ánima. It was also released on ViX+ earlier the same year.
