It had this creepy dollhouse-like atmosphere.
The story was pretty basic but passable.
Endless "I would have just done XYZ" situations, typical characters making nonsense decisions. I don't mind this so much in horror though because I almost feel like it's part of the fun of bad horror movies.
Overall I wouldn't really recommend it but it was ok as a one time watch. Your not missing anything if you don't see it though.

This is all about a teenage girl being stupid enough to meet up with the cute fella she doesn't know but has been talking to through social media and him being not such a nice guy.
This is a lower budgeted film but it is filmed well. The acting wasn't as bad as I've seen in other films so I found it tolerable. The story is nothing fresh. I think this is a movie that is well suited for Lifetime. Not great, not awful. If you like those sorts of films, this should work for you.

I sometimes will give these types of low rated movies a chance if people have reviewed it positively, even though there are a lot of scumbags who just rate films high becuase they know people involved with them. You are losers.
And to whomever rated this highly you must be. This movie is awful, in every way. Absolutely nothing creative or interesting about it. AVOID.

This movie was terrible. JUST awful. When I saw the trailer, I thought it had some promise. I'm an American, so I enjoyed the idea of a blonde female cast. I thought this could be like Split, another movie with a bunch of abducted girls. Only hotter.
But no. The only thing hot was the mess of a wig on the final girl's head the whole time. I'm telling you, it caused me pain to see that horrible wig on the screen throughout most of the movie-particularly because the blondeness of the psycho's sister Sadie was kind of important to the plot. So let's get this straight: Instead of casting by one of the +/minus 1 bazillion blonde 20ish actresses trying to land a movie in Hollywood, they cast a brunette, have a scene where her character is forced to bleach her hair, and then outfit her for the rest of the movie with the most godawful, not-foolin-anybody wig ever seen outside an amateur drag night.
Was it because the lead actress was otherwise so perfect for the role? It was not. This woman couldn't act her way out of a paper bag, which is a problem when you're doing whole movie with, essentially, a cast of 4. Her motivation was "whiny/indignant" throughout the entire movie, which was really strike three in getting the audience to like the character. (Strikes one and two being, of course, telling no one you are meeting a stranger from the Interapps and accepting an obviously roofied drink and texting incessently during the first 15 minutes of the movie. Rude.) A very poor final girl.
The rest is standard fare. Trauma. Tears. Plotting escape. Flashbacks revealing that the psycho has-wait for it... a dark past.
I won't spoil the details, but the end of the movie is positively bizarre and absolutely laughable in at least 3 ways. Then, in the strangest moment of all, right before the credits, the director makes you wonder if he thought he was directing a PSA.

This movie is a completely garbage piece of storytelling and cinematography
The movie was doing fine up until around the 30 minute mark where our lead actress dyes her hair and now she's wearing this ridiculous blonde wig the rest of the film. It looked like something a child would wear at a kid's museum and I had to shut it off. Way to ruin a good movie.
The filmmaker takes an intriguing idea and basically turns it into a fetishization of a sick man luring teenage women online, and turning them into blonde cheerleaders. Think of it as a cult, as they each are required to use the name Sadie and abide by a strict set of rules and customs.
There was a similar Lifetime TV movie named Kept Woman that I saw awhile back which was truly watchable and exciting. In that movie we saw how the perpetrator was able to put on a facade on everyone. Incorporating the outside perspective (such as seeing how Brad is able to keep these women hidden or seeing how Chelsea's family is dealing with her being gone) would have helped keep things fresh.
The pacing was my biggest problem here - I never felt a rush of thrills or any reason to keep watching. The first 20 minutes were make or break for me- I almost turned it off.

Even the dialouges are slow, the action of horror are slow, the plotspeed are slow, everything is slow in here.
its a typical social media horror genre alla lure the ''fjortis'' in the trap, and lock the locks very tight to use her as a sex slave and as a humble house girl. in this story though there are 4 girls trapped in the same complex of a hellhole, all of them called siggy, and all of them made up and hairdone like eachother, all of them in creerleading suits...its all a game of playing with the devil and you might win or not.... the psychopaty that lingers in the house are some realistic and some not. the schizofrenic changing into several persons are typical, and might feel scary for some, what i felt a little was the claustrophobia of the locked environment.
acting, well all the tars here aint born yet, but they might. but nothing to acclaim for. the filmographic work aint bad at all, and the colourfull decorative work done at the main set , gives you a weird sense of normality, so its a well done job there.
its a film that will scare some, make others laugh, and most will jump of halfway, so its just a pinch of a spoonful recommend from the grumpy old man

This movie was a surprise for me. I was expecting mediocre acting and quality movie was but this movie was the complete opposite. The story felt fresh even tho I'm sure this has been done a thousand times. I loved all the acting in this film. This is a awesome survival horror movie and a highly recommendable one at that!!

This tense psychological thriller emphasizes terror over gore. The haunted house theme shapes the narrative set in a suburban prison home. Several nerve racking scenes unfold as Chelsea tries to accommodate her captor, outsmart him, cope with her fellow captives, and attempt to get their help. Chelsea turns into a much stronger female lead than initially expected.

Interesting way of scaring your 16yo pyt daughter into safe-texting. HS pyt cheerleaders held hostage to a young psycho's sister-infatuation/sickness. New writer/directors father-son team apparently make a decent first feature film that goes a bit further than similar fare, depicting the poetic justice against the antagonist. Star Amanda Arcuri ("Chelsea") looks like Molly Ephraim's ("Mandy" of Last Man Standing fame) double, so that's a treat.

Let's just face it - it's simply not good. The thing that bothered me the most was the acting itself (which basically carries the movie, lol) from everyone. I did not believe a single person in there. Not the girls, not the villain, not anyone. I did not believe girl were actually scared. I did not believe villains performance (it looked like the guy HAD to make this movie, for cash purposes only, not because he actually believed in that character and wanted to express it).
I know this movie was supposed to show us how often, and on which ways, young girls are being kidnapped, through a teen horror movie. But it failed. It was actually a good story, but did not deliver what was supposed to. Maybe if it was a higher budget movie, and if they hired more experienced actors...it would be good. But... here we are.
On the plus side, I'll give them one thing - I've seen mother and father issues, but never sister issues from mans point of view. Like I said, it could of been great.
I don't recommend it, but if you want to kill and hour and a half... go for it.

I'll be honest, I only watched this movie because of some reviews mentioning this terrible dollar store wig. I just had to see for myself!
It was a just okay movie, I have most definitely seen way worse. It won't win any awards for acting or screenplay but it was fine. Watch it if you cant find anything else to watch, it'll keep you entertained for a little. It kinda feels like a lifetime movie honestly. Very predictable, no shocks or twists and turns.
Yeah not much more to say, they really have a minimum amount of characters you have to type for a review so I'm just trying to reach it! So uh yeah.

The problem, is that this movie does not benefit from being a slow burn. At least not as slow as this movie is.
The acting is passable. Especially the main lead. He puts forward a very creepy performance. The actresses are also good. The writing is okay. The premise is a good one. Again. It's a good movie.
Would have served from about cutting roughly 15 to 25 minutes.
I've seen many movies like this. Have seen much worse and some better. It almost feels as this movie was meant to be lower budget, but then the company pushed more money into this project. There are obvious plot holes, as there tends to be with movies like this. But. Nothing too glaring. Could definitely seen worse. But. Also better. Good viewing as along as you know what to expect.

Do Not Reply is an intriguing thriller that is well acted and message driven. Kudos to writer/director, Daniel Woltosz and father, Walt Woltosz, in their great efforts to craft, cast and direct a thought provoking thriller that sends a profound message to underaged youngsters using the internet to meet and hang out with strangers. Certainly worth the watch.
The plot and premise are timely and I see this as a warning film to younger people to delete their accounts. If you watch this movie with volume off and subtitles on, you'll find that the screenwriting is rather good. This director brother team did their research on mind control and the camera work is solid. What weakens the film is the hair and make up and acting.

Gave this a shot and it put me right to sleep. Tried two more times with the same outcome. Could've been way better!

Internet has brought as a new kind of predator. One that preys on the young (and therefor I reckon can be considered weak) ... mostly men do this as is in this case. The movie can work as a warning - though I would hope that at least parents are aware and (unfortunately) prepare their daugthers to the dangers strangers on the net can pose.
I say unfortunately, because it should not be the girls that have to worry in an ideal world. But since that is not the case, it is always good to be safe than sorry. Now the theme is quite a strong one, I'd say you agree with that ... the movie does have its flaws though. Beginning with script/dialog and some acting choices throughout. Having said that, it still works overall even if you may cringe more than once for different reasons while you watch this ...
