Afghan people were not happy with the film's trailer as it portrayed the Maratha's as the winners of the battle. Moreover they felt that recent films like Kesari (2019) and Padmavat (2019) have shown Afghans as cold-blooded murderers.
All costumes for the film have been made with exceptional attention to detail, such as the Peshwa Pagdi and the Afghan Jackets, based on old paintings found in museums.
Padmini Kolhapure and Zeenat Aman are to work in a film together after 39 years since Insaaf Ka Tarazu (1980).
2800 jewelry pieces were used for the film.
Of the whole cast only Sanjay Dutt got applauded and that too for portraying a negative character.
