Nice romantic comedy

This is an enjoyable example of the new wave of Mexican cinema showing its contemporary charming rising stars in a funny young adult modern story.

So so

It starts very well then the movie gets boring and slow, finally the end is a little interesting. I would not recommend it for those who are looking for something new, but if you are curious of Mexican habits and customs you could enjoy this movie.

Lame, banal and hollow

A quite lame attempt of a romcom, makes you cringe at the predictable script, boring as a whole.

funny, entertaining and refreshing

The Mexican landscape for romcoms is devastatingly bad, full of cliches and misogyny. this one is another thing, it's lighthearted, funny, feminist with a positive message of sorority and self improvement. It doesn't rely on fat, homophobe, misogynistic jokes to make the audience laugh (like many cheap movies which sadly came to be a big success). In here, every woman is valid. The score is very harsh and I personally don't think it deserves it. I'd love to see more about class consciousness and racism but it's definitely a big step towards a more inclusive mainstream Mexican cinema.

To be honest I saw on the same day Cindy and Little Woman, and the one I enjoyed the most (maybe bc it was more contemporary and its placed on my country) it was definitely this one.

Cannot miss it! Good message, good laughs.

Banality as a lifestyle.

An empty, insubstantial comedy that gloats in its superficiality.

Mejor de lo que esperaba!

Better than I expected! Well acted, funny without being dumb, and the leading actress has a lot of charisma.

Absolutely boring.

Terrible script and an overacted cast makes a total waste of time.

Surprisingly Funny

I was very skeptical about watching this movie, after reading some bad reviews from local "critics". However, I read and heard from many people that they found this movie funny, so I decided to give it a try.

Cindy La Regia is based on the Mexican upper-class character from the social networks created by Ricardo Cucamonga back in the early 2000's. He has also written some books on behalf of Cindy La Regia that are well-sold nationwide. The character's essence is totally depicted in the movie.

It is not a masterpiece or Oscar-worthy, so if you go and see this movie with that idea in mind, you might be disappointed, but if you go just to have a good time, you will definitely have it. Cassandra Sanchez-Navarro is great as Cindy La Regia in her big screen debut. Being a Regio myself, I found Cassandra very convincing in her role (she's actually not Regia in real life): her acting and specially her accent is very Regio. Even Cucamonga, Cindy's creator, mentioned that he always imagined real-life Cindy La Regia as depicted in the film. "When I saw the movie, it was as if Cindy has gotten out from the comics." (Magazine Class MX, 2020).

The supporting characters are great too. Cindy's parents and her Regio friends are also depicted as in the comics/books. The new characters deliver as well. If you are Regio (or from Monterrey, Mexico), you will probably enjoy more this film, as there are some references to the culture of this city. People from province that move to the capital, might felt identified as well.

You will probably enjoy the movie if you have read the comics (or books) and found them funny, or perhaps if you don't know anything about the character. However, if you don't like Cindy La Regia previous published material you won't like this movie either.

Funny romcom and social commentary

This is a romcom that shows how "classist" society in Monterrey brainwash young women to believe that marriage and money is all that matters. But then the protagonist runs away only to discover her identity as a woman and individual with her own set of unique needs and desires that by no means are influenced by an outside narrative. It's cool to see feminism principles in the film, especially in a patriarchal society like so many regions of Mexico

Such a great Romcom!

The main character is likeable and funny in her own ingenuity. The way the movie was set up makes you want her to succeed and learn where she fits in life. Great movie overall.

Entertaining as it should be.

This movie is what it is, a cute little romcom and the cultural differences between Monterrey (San Pedro) and DF. If you're from either and you take it lightly, you would love the humor that is involved. The movie is not meaningful in any way and don't expect to learn a life lesson, and it is what it is, a princess girl with money learning about life and values while finding her true love. I was surprised and glad that the character was not airhead in any way. She was smart in her own ways and really shows herself contributing to her surroundings since the beginning instead of just looking clueless all the time. It's good for entertaining and Cassandra rules as Cindy. Her facial expressions make everything of the character's trait and really match what she's showing or feeling.

Funny comedy

This is a comedy very similar to Legally Blonde but Mexican style. Entertaining and funny, nothing more.
