Thekla Reuten in Marionette (2020)

Trivia

Marionette

Edit
Largely filmed on location in the former Catholic Junior Seminary for Scotland, St Mary's College, Blairs, Aberdeen.
This is an (extended) remake of Elbert van Strien's first short film 'De Marionettenwereld' (1993)
An earlier attempt to get this movie produced failed. Matt Damon had already expressed interest to take part.
Thekla Reuten was still breast feeding her second son during the shooting. On opening night she told the audience "if it is feasible to combine that with this film, then breast feeding can be combined with every job".
The world premiere took place during the Dutch Film Festival (NFF) In Utrecht (The Netherlands) on 29 September 2020. The festival and premiere had to take measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result the movie premiered in some 90 cinemas at the same time to spread the audience. In Utrecht the invited audience was limited in numbers. Non-Dutch cast was not present due to quarantine guidelines - some welcomed the audience via a taped video message on screen.
