Rita's return: Having been absent for over twenty years, Rita Melanson returns to Saint-Prospère, her native village. She catches up with old contacts, including Yolande, a childhood friend. Having come to tie up a few loose ends, she finds herself, despite her best intentions, owner of the church, presbytery and surrounding land.

Rita seeks a solution: Since she can't cancel the purchase of the property, Rita plans to sell it on to Lomer, local businessman and main employer in the community, acting mayor and, above all, her ex-fiancé. At the same time, Véronique Poisson, estate agent, falls under the charm of Ferraille, Rita's cousin.

Rita has a clear out: If Rita wants to sell the property to her advantage, it needs doing up. She asks Yolande and Terri to help. She also gets Matteo, a charming Italian snow surfer, to lend a hand in exchange for free accommodation. Unfortunately, the group ends up causing problems rather than anything else.

Rita creates a holiday cottage: Rita wants to turn the presbytery into holiday accommodation. And what better publicity for her project than to join forces with Matteo in his attempt to enter the Guinness book of records for snow surfing.

First customers: Rita does everything possible to keep her first customers, Pierre and Josiane, a couple from Quebec, as Zoël and Terri finish off the holiday cottage. Gilberte joins in the effort and Edmour becomes friends with Pierre who appreciates his return to the farm. An unexpected surprise gives Rita new hope.

Zoning: Having come to write an article on the orchard, a tourism journalist moves into the cottage. Rita sees a unique opportunity to make the property better known. But before that she will have to sing the praises of the orchard and its owner, Lomer.

The breakdown: To the great frustration of Ferraille, Rita refuses to buy a new car when her 1961 Galaxie breaks down. Meanwhile, Yolande wants to persuade her friend Monette to come and live in Saint-Prospère. She asks Rita for her help.

Mexico: Conrad suddenly reappears from Rita's past, inviting her to come and sing with him in a club in the South. Rita is torn between staying in Saint-Prospère with her friends and spending the winter in Mexico with Conrad. Meanwhile, the annual baseball tournament brings Zoël and Terri together.
