Brad Leland was on one episode of Parks and Recreation, but never met Jim O'Heir while shooting. This was their first time on screen together and meeting each other.
Many of the football players in the film recently were TAPPS conference champions. During the sprint scenes, which were filmed on the hottest day of the summer (reaching temps close to 105 degrees), the players were totally relaxed. They noted that the film shoot was way easier than actual football practice.

Eric (Greg Reid) and Sainty Nelsen (Sara Trenton) are married in real life. Reid is the name of Sainty's Father, a producer on the film.
The movie was originally pitched to Robert Rodriquez's Rebel Without a Crew TV series, but was turned down.
