Episode #10.9

Despite the literal fireworks in the last frames, a definite whimper of a last episode in a frankly deeply subpar season that really should be skipped if you want to leave yourself with the chuckles that the earlier episodes gave you. Benidorm started out very strongly and sustained that for about seven seasons, with lessening but still occasional moments of real humour in the following couple of seasons but season 10 really was a dud. It's easy to see why audience viewing figures fell and the decision was made to cancel the show. You can't fault the efforts of the actors but some unattractive characters, repetitous scenes lacking the charm of their earlier models, and ever more unbelievable plotlines undermined everything. It's very hard to sustain a location based comedy series for as long as Benidorm ran and this proved to be no exception to the rule. Enjoy the early seasons, they will never dim.

What a disappointing ending to an amazing show. I was gutted the garveys didn't come back. The show started brilliant and funny and the final episode definitely didn't do it any justice. Such a shame! Plus, why did Billy have to miss the frankie goes to Hollywood set. I didn't get that.

A dull ending to a lousy season. A sad ending to a great series.

The last season focused on too many annoying, unfunny characters. Monty was annoying. Sammy was annoying. The 2 cops were duller than dishwater. They even brought back the annoying Malcolm.

Tim Healy (Lesley) disappeared again. The dual characters played by Elsie Kelly went nowhere. Julian Moore-Cook was a dud.

Luckily they did give Tony Maudsley, Janine Duvitski, and Aiden Gillen some stuff to do. And Sherrie Hewson was a constant delight.
