    Ok so hear me out

Okay, yeah. This may just be some obscure, random computer animation made for the littlest of kids that doesn't go into much more depth than calling everyone by name a few times, giving one character you've known for about 4 minutes some sad song about wanting to fit in (he has never met the characters he's daydreaming about), and setting up a doomsday scenario within 10 minutes, and yeah, the animation is about what you'd expect from a 30 minute 2001 straight to dvd short film for toddlers quality-wise, and yeah, it may just be a poorly disguised, kind of cringy allegory for christianity where god is a whale for some reason... but like. Listen. Hear me out.

First of all, Kraken is actually unironically a fun villain, and I would even go as far as to say he gets close to the classic Disney villain caliber in just under 7 minutes of screen time. Bro definitely has The Vibe. No idea who tf his voice actor is, but he did a banger job, and those eyes are kind of iconic honestly. I'd definitely be able to pick him out of a villain lineup. Also, please, PLEASE read his list of crimes on the villain wiki because I can guarantee it'll be an absolute treat. This oversized, dramatic kalamari in a 30 minute film for 5 year olds has "attempted murder" on his list, among other things, and it's so stupidly funny to me for some reason- My guy has earned this shipwreck of a film 4 of the 10 stars.

Second of all... this soundtrack does NOT need to go as hard as it does. Like?? Hello??? Someone shoved cocaine in these tunes because each and every one of them are an absolute banger. As a child, I would literally watch this entire film over and over again JUST for the titular red tide scene because the song they play during that scene goes so fdxking hard it made my little 5 year old brain transcend reality, and I would proceed to replay that singular minute over and over just to transcend again. 4 out of 10 for the soundtrack, the two remaining stars solely earned by that one track that plays at that moment.

All in all, it may be hot garbage, but it's *my* hot garbage I am SO happy it was part of my childhood. Whoever composed the soundtrack, I'm smooching u. Whoever voiced Kraken, I am SMOOCHING u.
