Rachael Sparkes in Princess in the Castle (2019)

Trivia

Princess in the Castle

Edit
The tagline 'Perfect Delusion' and the title 'Princess in the Castle' directly relate to Connie's delusional disorder and fragile state of mind. The film is told entirely from her perspective which is both unreliable and fantastical. Key elements of the film are reality, others pure fantasy. Everyone hates Connie without reason because she has become so accustomed to abuse though her pursuit of social media fame she doesn't see things any other way.
The film's London sequences were shot on July 24th 2019 - the day Boris Johnson became Prime Minister of the UK. With significant amounts of news media at Buckingham Palace for Prime Minister Johnson's meeting with the Queen, their presence was included in the film to add a sense of reality to Howard Lewis Morgan's journalist character 'Sam York'.
Shot over 9 months and 15 ad-hoc shooting days from December 2018 to August 2019, including the costs of it's Edinburgh Fringe premiere and the price of closed captions, director Al Carretta produced this film for a total spend of less than £1500.
