Those calling this boring or a complete rip off of The Strangers could not possibly have watched the movie. It requires some thought, which may be beyond the grasp of some. Overall this is a solid first feature from a director that shows promise. Make up your own mind, don't take someone's word for it that may have looked at the cover art only.
