Barry Bostwick, Anika Noni Rose, Michael Jai White, and Erica Ash in Outlaw Johnny Black (2023)

Trivia

Outlaw Johnny Black

Edit
In a 2023 interview with Polygon, Michael Jai White addressed one of the running jokes of the movie, regarding the casting: "Well, it's about authenticity, isn't it? So being authentic to '70s moviemaking is, 'Well, how did they cast Native Americans?' This is a parody, making a joke of things, and making statements. If you notice that there might be someone who may not be Native American playing a Native American role, [it's] authentic to that time period. But we had plenty of real Native Americans in the movie, even during the same shot, who might be staring daggers at this Anglo playing Native American. [laughs] Because if I cast a Native American in that role, it would be inauthentic."
The original proof of concept trailer released in 2018 featured Martin Kove as the villain Tom Sheally. However, he is played by Barry Bostwick in the final film.
Johnny Black's wanted poster displayed a photo of Benjamin "ScatMan" Crothers. A prolific African American actor/voice actor from the 60's 70's and 80's.
Final film With stuntman David Lea before his Death.
"Rain comes down and it don't go back up" is a paraphrase of Isaiah 55:10.
