Trivia

Years and Years

Edit
Many ideas used in the show can be seen in Russell T. Davies' work on Doctor Who (2005), particularly the episodes Turn Left (2008) and The Sound of Drums (2007). The most notable similarity is the re-use of the name Vivienne Rook.
Ruth Madeley's character Rosie wasn't initially written as a wheelchair user. But after Madeley, who has spina bifida and requires a wheelchair, successfully auditioned for the part, Russell T. Davies reshaped the character with her.
Dedicated to the memory of Andrew Smith, late husband of writer Russell T. Davies.
The series takes place from 2019 to 2034. The first episode was screened on 14 May 2019 and starts with a news report of the death of Doris Day who had died that day.
Street demos and riots shown on the TV news are actually Catalonia's protests when Independence voting was about to take place
