The American Flag above the couch in Angelo's house has 48 stars. It is stated in the film that Alaska has rebelled against the US government under the leadership of someone named Hunter, the flag implies that another state has followed Alaska's lead.
Bobby McGruther deliberately wore baggy clothing, grew his hair and beard out for most of the film to make Eddie seem overweight and unhealthy, until the time jump in to the films climax when Eddie appears clean cut and healthy. Bobby didn't want to gain weight for the film because he struggled with being very overweight (415 lbs) until the age of 26 when his doctor said he would die before his 30th birthday if he didn't do something drastic. He then went on to lose 250 lbs. Bobby celebrated his 31st birthday 2 months before filming began.

This is a remake of short film of the same name. Out of the original cast only Lawrence Kochoa, Bianca Roses, and Bobby McGruther returned. Kochoa and Roses played their original characters from the short. McGruther played an entirely new character for the feature film version.
Eddie Parker is presented as a heavy drinker and substance abuser. In real life Bobby McGruther rarely drinks due to him being a recovered drug addict. McGruther has been clean 14 years.
