Theo James and Rose Leslie were both on the TV show Downton Abbey. Leslie played Gwen a maid who ended up leaving to become a secretary and James played Kamal Pamuk the son of a Turkish Diplomat who causes a scandal by dying in the bed of the Earl's eldest daughter.

James shared the landing duties with his stunt double but says "most were done by me. I really wanted that impact, to feel like it really hurt. I was covered in bruises. Landing on a car was particularly painful. I clipped my elbow and thought I'd broken my arm."
The series received a generally negative reception, and was canceled after one season in July 2022. The fans of the show started a petition to save the series by approaching other streaming platforms to pick it up for renewal. It was removed from HBO Max in December 2022.
"It's a part of the DNA of the book. What I liked about it is the nudity is dangerous. He's thrown out of time, and it expends a lot of energy. It depletes him. It's an affliction, an illness that he has to deal with. I always felt like it's an epileptic fit times 100, where it's a real shock to his body." Says Theo James
