Another horror movie that I had neither seen nor heard about prior to stumbling upon it by random luck here in 2025. And given my love of all things horror, of course I opted to check out what director Jimmie Chiverelli had to offer.
Writers Glenn Forbes, Rebecca Hales and Heidi Tan put together an unfathomably dull and boring storyline. Halfway through the movie, I was so bored out of my mind that I tossed the towel in the ring and gave up on finishing this galore of a boring snoozefest. Granted, I have not read the novel written by Bill Scott, upon which this movie was based, so I virtually don't know how true the writers were to the source material.
I was not familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list, for better or worse. But that was actually something that spoke in favor of the movie, as I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen whenever I watch a movie. The acting performances in the movie weren't bad per se, but they certainly weren't good either. You might actually go as far as to saying that the acting performances were bland and forgettable.
Visually then you're not in for anything grand here.
The movie's cover was actually the best thing about the ordeal, and the cover wasn't even all that impressive.
If you enjoy horror movies, don't waste 105 minutes on this snoozefest. It just simply isn't worth the effort. This is by no means a movie that I would recommend, nor is it a movie that I will ever return to attempt finish watching.
My rating of director Jimmie Chiverelli's 2022 movie "The Day Lacey Called" lands on a very generous two out of ten stars.
