Sanctuary Dream (2019)

Trivia

Sanctuary Dream

Edit
The film was originally supposed to have a mix of 70% real and 30% digital instruments. They were to be played by University Students in the Spring of 2018. However; due to negative reviews of the first cut, the film needed an editing makeover. By the time the Third and Final Cut was finished, it was the Summer. All musicians who agreed to take part at the University of Utah were then within 100 miles away from each other. So for practical reasons, the film's score was made 100% digital in three weeks, save for a guitar and a ukulele played on set.You can listen to the Original Soundtrack for free on YouTube at the channel Grant Carsten Films; or search Sanctuary Dream OST.
Three actors had their last scene filmed on their first day: Keith Livingston, Susie Derber, and Kristin Grismore.
Though the motion picture was shot at multiple locations to make the story feel huge, 81% of the film was shot at Park City, Utah. The other 19% was filmed at Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Mountains.
Only three of the thirty-five actors were professionally trained before they were filmed. Two were of the six main characters; one was an extra with dialogue who was found before the last day of shooting. For most of the rest, it was their first time acting ever. That includes Kristin Grismore and John Allan respectively.
Archive Review from the Website (2 out of 21)

This film is intense and not like anything I have ever seen, the world through the eyes and ears of autism. Faisal's mission is to find safety and connection. The world to Faisal is loud, random, non sequitur, confusing, disconnected, exaggerated, violent, cruel, and terrifying. If it looks odd, it is odd looking to a neuro-typical person. Everything is over the top and out of control. It is also a world of hope. It is a remarkable achievement in writing, directing, composing, and editing, all by Grant Carsten.

DLC - Empathy Advocate of the U.S. Health Institutions; Vancouver, Washington State. August 9th, 2018
