During one period in time, Arild Kristo was often called "Norway's most rejected film director". Neither his short or more his feature film projects met understanding or sympathy with the municipality or state cultural boards. Later Kristo received a big NO from the State Film Production Committee. In the early 80s he sought support for a grand filmization of "The Story of Terje Vigen", but without a positive result. In 1987, he received support for the short film "Mirakelet". A reconstruction of this film is available as extras on the Norwegian film institute's new DVD edition by "Eddie & Suzanne".
