The best Transformers since 2007
I saw this movie recently, and I can confidently say that it is the best Transformers film since the first one in 2007, not only because of its stunning animation and beautifully saturated colors, which perfectly capture the nostalgic 80s feel, but also because Transformers One tells a much more engaging and well-crafted story compared to the last movie, which was oddly connected to G. I. Joe (I still don't understand why, but honestly, I don't care, because that's not what I wanted to see in a Transformers movie), so I highly recommend this beautiful animation to everyone, even if you're not a fan!
ONE of the Best Animated Films in 2024
Transformers One Review by flexarts
Why is it GOOD?
1) After a long wait, there is finally a Transformers film set entirely on Cybertron without any human presence.
2) Even though Peter Cullen's voice is more charismatic, Chris Hemsworth still does an excellent job of portraying young Optimus Prime.
3) The depth given to each of these iconic characters is spot on and executed extremely well.
4) The animation is Fantastic with the G1 character designs given a modern touch. Wait... Say that again?
5) Everything about the sound here is superb, from the incredibly detailed sound design to Brian Tyler's impressive score.
6) Bumblebee sets the mood when it comes to comedy, even his friend STEVE is BETTER than MINECRAFT STEVE.
Why is it BAD?
1] The character development feels rushed, especially D-16's transition into Megatron which is not smooth.
In conclusion: Transformers One has become the best Transformers film so far by offering a more substantive story than the live-action films. 9.1/10 :D.

"More than Meets the Eye"
The trailer to this movie very much ruined the movie's revenue. Because of the very poor marketing most would even bother to watch it. However, this movie was the complete opposite of what most would expect it to be. The movie pays homage to Transformers G1 and Transformers: Prime, with a soft reboot origin story. It is a good departure from the poorly made, overstimulating, and very messy Michael Bay Films. Showing Optimus' beginning as the reckless teenager Orion Pax along side D-16 and Elita-One. Having B-26 (Bumblebee) actually speaking like he did in the original Transformers is a huge relief, his "radio silence" in the Bay Movies got very annoying before. Seeing D-16's decent into becoming Megatron and Orion's accent to becoming Optimus Prime was also worth watching at they both grow up in different ways. The humor was great and didn't distract from the movie, and it was good to see that Elita-One was although talented, didn't fall completely under the "Mary Sue" or an All-Powerful Girl boss undermines Orion's leadership. My only regret is that those who watched the only Bay Films will not understand the references and easter eggs within the film. Also, a problem is that the movie did feel a bit rushed in it's story. Overall this is an excellent Family film and I look forward to see where it goes from here. See for yourself that there is more to this movie than meets the eye...
Now transformers feels complete

Finally, we get to witness the dramatic events that led to the rivalry between Optimus Prime and Megatron. Great intro film to a new franchise!
Transformers one delivers and then some!
As a fan of the transformer story, this film provides a unique tail on the origin of both Megatron and Optimus prime.
It is a brilliant new direction to this franchise! The animation is top-notch, and perfectly fits the style of storytelling. The story of both Megatron and Optimus prime is a lovely one and riveting, and they do justice and telling it in such a great way. Developing the introductions for the characters that we will soon come to love. This is truly a great introductory film that any fan can enjoy!
Overall rating: 7/10 Highly recommended.

- TriviaMegatron's original name D-16 is a reference to the Japanese serial number of the original Generation 1 Megatron toy released by the company Takara in 1984. The letter D is short for Destron, the Japanese name of the Decepticons used in older media, while the number 16 denoted the original Megatron toy as the sixteenth release in the Japanese toy line.
- GoofsWhen the Iacon 5000 contestants transform for the race, a purple jet Transformer already has a pair of red light effects floating behind his back, attached to nothing, before he turns into a jet.
- Crazy creditsThere is a mid-credits scene featuring B-127, and a post-credits scene featuring Megatron.
- Alternate versionsSeveral international releases of the film (including the UK) changed any mention of Bee's "knife hands" to refer to them as "sword hands" instead. It's likely that Paramount had changed the film for those territories.
