The three central women of the film are based on the elements of the psyche: the superego, the ego, and the ID. Their names are also etymologically related accordingly (Arylin: "an eye for perfection", Becca: "to tie between", Cassy: "the most beautiful princess of Troy who seduced Apollo himself").
