Chris Hemsworth in Extraction (2020)

FAQ

Extraction

FAQ

Likely because "Extraction" is more widely accessible and also helps sum up what the movie is about. Also, in case they wanted to make a sequel (which they did), frees them up to take it anywhere in the world as opposed to calling the movie "Dhaka 2" and either forcing the movie to be set in the same city or go elsewhere in the world and confuse audiences.

Not exactly. Although Dhaka is a densely populated city, and a few part in old dhaka is similar to the potrayal, the depiction is not even close. This is the worst city in the Indian sub continent. Bangladesh is a small country but it is in the top 10 list of most populated country in the World, so the city is full of people. According to a report from CEOWORLD magazine, Bangladesh is the most expensive country in South Asia and Dhaka has been ranked 47th most expensive city for expatriate workers in Mercer's 25th annual Cost of Living survey. Paris and Dhaka share the same cost of living, according to a survey. So you can understand, the depiction was not even close to reality.

    Yes, they are.

Police and military corruption is nothing new. It *does* happen in every country in the world. So to have it portrayed in a fictional action movie is perfectly acceptable. Only an idiot would take an action film as fact.
