Zack Ward spoke about filmmaking to a student assembly at Globe High School in Globe, AZ in Nov. 2018 while in town filming on location. Some of the students also had the opportunity to participate as extras in scenes taking place in school, during prom, and at a Mexican festival.
Described as an 80's styled adventure film in the vein of "The Goonies" meets "Big Trouble in Little China."
Director Zack Ward is also a veteran actor who has played several roles since he was a kid, including Scut Farkus, the young bully from the classic A Christmas Story (1983).
While filming on location in downtown Globe, AZ a lone gunman shot four people, killing three, in a nearby bar called Jammerz.
In an interview, director Zack Ward said "I'm really excited about it because it's done in an '80s style with practical effects. Our creatures are actual existing creatures, not just digital manifestations. We have talking lizard people and tortoises and chicken people and rat people and witches and magic. It's fun."
