I remember watching a few episodes of the original Blue's Clues of the 1990s. That show was decent.
Many years later, I was a bit surprise Nickalodeon was releasing Blue's Clues and You which is a reboot of the 1990s series. What I appreciate most in this reboot are the catchy new theme song, and that Blue and Magenta are now in CGI.
But months later, I started to wonder. How come Blue and Magenta are the only animated characters in CGI? Why the other animated characters, such as the orange kitten and the purple joey, still have their old-fashioned visual look of the previous series? I do kinda like this reboot, but I wish they also upgrade the appearance of the other animated characters.

I have grown up watching Blue's Clues, and I still watch it, despite being an adult. When I heard that they were rebooting the series, I approved of it because the original was one of those preschool shows that did not annoy you so much. After watching a few episodes of the reboot, I was impressed to see the notebook being an actual notebook and smartphone combined, Josh is a great host, they sometimes read the emails and letters, and the twists they put into the remakes of the classic Blue's Clues episodes. Basically, this show is just what this generation needs right now. The original series borrowed some key ideas from Mr Rogers's neighborhood. Actually, Fred Rogers appreciated what Blue's Clues was teaching younger viewers during the late 90s. I am proud to say that this reboot of Blue's Clues has maintain the core values of the original series and Fred Rogers' ideals when it comes to educating the new generation today.
I grew up with the original Blues Clues and let me say this I love this reboot and so does my 4-year-old. ALSO, that 1-star review is a joke SOMETIMES Josh does emails, not consistently, it's an equal amount of emails vs. a regular letters. Also I think this may be the only show on Nick jr. that is saving the channel, all the other programming is trash. i mean BUTTER-BEANS CAFE, RAINBOW RANGERS, ABBY HATCHER, CORN AND PEG, RICKY ZOOM, AND RUSTY RIVETS. OMG dude. I mean my 4 year old enjoys these shows, i mean he's innocent he doesnt know better LOL. Those shows are trash TO ME< not to my 4 yr old. The only other show i can tolerate on that channel is............ Max and Ruby, probably because i grew up with it, and it's not trash LOL, BUT other than that that line up is trash. i
miss Little Bill, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, Oswald, Little Bear, Franklin, Etc.

I grew up on Blues Clues, it was my favorite show as a kid. I bought the DVDs for my boys and they also fell in love with them. I was hesitant at first about this new series...Blue looking so different and I didn't want them to modernize everything but so far it's been great! My 2 year old LOVES it!

I practically ate the original 1996 show up like candy as a young child and to see it in this form is beyond believable.
Joshua Dela Cruz does a good job of being the host, and he has almost the exact same enthusiasm and charisma that Steve had. That attribute alone is a perfect example of how good this reboot is. The animation on the characters may take some time to get used to, but trust me, it is totally worth it.
Not only is this show adorable and colorful to look at, but it brings back memories of my love for the original Blue's Clues. Some episodes from were remade for this new series, and does it botch it up? Absolutely not! The show presents the original in a way that'll bring back the old audiences who used to watch the previous cartoon.
Without question, Blue's Clues and You is a reboot that adults, as well as children, can enjoy. I highly recommend this new series.

I'm a 90's baby.. so I grew up with Steve. And I outgrew it well beyond when Joe came on. And although I have nothing against Josh. I just feel it's not the same. It's lost its more sentimental touch that the Steve and Joe seasons had. Not only that but blue just looks so fake. Like in the old ones he at least blended in with all the other characters and backgrounds. This just seems too forced.

They are really running out of ideas.
When I saw this I almosted fell into a coma. It looked bad. The host is meh. The songs are bad even for kid standards. And 3d? . They had a segment where the mailbox told the host that he had an email when the host device was in his pocket. Dumb.
The host has very strange bad vibe. When you Compare him to Steve and Joe they had great energy and demeanor.
Why are they rebooting these classic shows into hash?
Don't they have any new ideas?
If you have high standards and is an ultimate perfectionist. I recommend that you don't watch the new blues clues. Anyone else who likes hash, lazy production, Viacom and dullness will enjoy this one.
It has some similarities to the classic old one but overall it's been butchered to look worse on purpose.
2021 update: I made this review back in 2020. After a certain episode I just want to say that I did tell you people to stay away.

I recently tuned in to the reboot of Blue's Clues and You! It was a mixed bag for me. While the nostalgia factor was there, and seeing Blue and her friends again was great, the experience was underwhelming.
The show's format felt repetitive, with the same basic structure and formula used in every episode. The clues were easy to figure out, and the "mystery" at the center of each episode never felt particularly compelling.
The show will aim at a young audience, and many kids will enjoy the bright colors, catchy songs, and simple puzzles. And I did appreciate the effort to include more diversity in the cast and characters.
I would give Blue's Clues and You! A 5 out of 10. While it's not the best children's show out there, it's still a decent choice for parents looking for something safe and educational for their little ones.

Blue's Clues is a childhood classic for many people in my generation. I never did watch it much as a young child, but it's always held a special place in my heart. Just from the trailer I can tell that Josh has all the old charisma and happy energy that Steve and Joe had. Not to mention, Josh was HANDPICKED by Steve, so I don't see why people are complaining about him when he literally has the approval of the original host. And from the reviews apparently they just reuse the old plot episodes, but in my opinion that's not really an issue, at least they're not making episodes with references to controversial topics, which is saying a lot considering the content of some children's shows these days. Overall, I don't see an issue with this reboot, as it's it's a good reboot, and reboots are usually GARBAGE (looking at YOU, Thomas & Friends All Engines Go).

I grew up with the original Blue's Clues and I am happy that the newer generations can experience this good wholesome show that's fun!
I watched a couple of episodes just to get more of a sense of nostalgia and it was actually pretty funny and cute! Children would love this reboot and I would recommend it to anyone who has children.
I also liked the Easter eggs of Steve and Joe in the first episode
The only thing I wish is that they would have showed the first episodes of Blue's Clues with Steve and Joe earlier so children new to Blue's Clues in general get a better sense of who they are.

We LOVE the reboot! My little sister watched the original growing up & now my 3 year old is into the reboot. We travel alot & buy DVDs for his DVD player & he's been asking for Blue's Clues. When can we expect DVDs? Oh & I love that the new guy throws in some sign language. Great way for my son to pick up on simple tidbits.
Joshy is so cute! I really like Joshy because he smiles and winks a lot. The show would be better if the pedophilia symbol, little boy lover, is banished completely. Steve and Joe did an awesome job choosing their cousin Josh to be the new host of Blue's Clues & You. I really hope Joshy will play the piano in a future episode. With Blue now being furry, fluffy and huggable, we wouldn't even have to worry about her barking with her mouth closed. The new looks on Blue, Magenta and other characters look very real and very cool. I prefer the reboot version of Blue's Clues instead of the original version of Blue's Clues.

I grew up watching the original Blues Clue's and now my son watches this one. I know a lot of people who grew up on the original swear by it but honestly Josh is way better than Steve or Joe. Josh has such high energy and really connects with the kids. I tried putting on Steve for my son and he lost interest in 30 seconds so we switched back to Josh and he doesn't look away. Josh is the best!!!!! Love this show.

Josh seems so genuine and adds a touch of Rock & Roll to the show. I was 14 when Blue's Clues came out, but I had a much younger sister who loved it. Now I have my own toddler and he loves the new show as much as my sister loved the original.
Glad it's back!

We love Josh both my kids can't look away (9months and 2.5 years). Josh uses American Sign Language and Tagalog frequently which is great for culture emersion. The songs are pretty good and the content is always wholesome and educational. I think the episodes are fair as far as culture representation (very correct episode on Hanukah in addition to an episode about Christmas. Note I say culture and not religious because they did not bring in religion, but the holiday and it's activities). There's disability representation in its latest episode with a deaf cohost. Josh is a very considerate host, always asking if he can help instead of just helping.

I am old enough to have watched the first series with Steve when I was younger. I now have kids of my own, and we love watching Blues Clues and You (5 and 6mo). Only annoying thing is that the songs get stuck in my head!
For the review that said "blue doesn't look realistic" - I want to point out that neither did the original, mainly due to it BEING GOD DAMN BLUE!
For the butthurt crying about modernisation (phones and emails) as well as Drag Queens - get a grip you archaic, narrow minded embarrassments. Kids TV should expose them to the world around them, but if you would prefer them staying closeted and for them to grow up to be as odious and out of touch as you, then just get them to consume Alex Ross or Breitbart from birth.
