A reboot to Desperate Housewives might possibly in the works!

The hit ABC drama series starring Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Eva Longoria ran from 2004 to 2012 on ABC. The series, centered around Wisteria Lane in the fictional town of Fairview, follows the lives of a group of women as seen through the eyes of their friend and neighbor who committed suicide in the first episode.

In a new interview, creator Marc Cherry pitched his idea for a Desperate Housewives prequel series.

After 20 years, Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry is ready to return to the Wisteria Lane of another era.

Following the hit ABC series’ milestone anniversary last month, the 2x Emmy-nominated EP and showrunner recently shared his vision for a reboot of Desperate Housewives, which ran for eight seasons from 2004 to 2012.

After just two seasons, the Courteney Cox-starring horror series “Shining Vale” has been given the axe by Starz, and that’s not even the worst news about the show this afternoon.

Variety reports, “The Season 2 finale of the horror comedy, produced by Warner Bros. TV, aired on December 1. Not only will the show be cut by the network, the first two seasons will be removed from the streaming service at the end of the year.”

“Shining Vale” Season 2 premiered on the Starz streaming service on October 13, 2023, and Variety notes that the show didn’t find enough of an audience to justify a third season.

The Peripheral won’t be seeing a second season after all. Prime Video has cancelled the sci-fi series, TVLine has confirmed, despite previously announcing its renewal back in February.

NBC has ordered St. Denis Medical, a single-camera workplace comedy starring the two actors, to series for the 2023–2024 broadcast season. In a press release, NBC describes the show as “a mockumentary about an underfunded, understaffed Oregon hospital where the dedicated doctors and nurses try their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity.” McLendon-Covey and Grier both celebrated the news on Instagram. “Weeeee! Hulu has released the trailer for Searchlight Pictures’ “Flamin’ Hot,” the feature directorial debut of Eva Longoria which tells the supposed origin story of the most famous flavor of Cheetos ever made.

“Flamin’ Hot” stars Jesse Garcia as Richard Montañez, the son of migrant workers who rose from being a janitor at Frito-Lay’s factory in Rancho Cucamonga to becoming one of the snack company’s marketing executives who helped rapidly grow sales of its products among Latinos.

Exclusive: Danny Trejo (Machete) and Veronica Falcón (Ozark) have boarded American Underdog, an indie drama set in the world of Mma that is now in production in Chicago. The film, marking the feature directorial debut of Peruvian-American filmmaker Gustavo Martin, will also star Vishy Ayyar and Andrew Gray.

Pic’s protagonist is Jai (Ayyar), an ex-con on a soulful path wrestling with personal redemption when outside circumstances pit him in the ring against the fierce opponent, Marcus (Gray). Trejo portrays Dennis, who reluctantly comes out of retirement to train his former student, while Falcón steps into the role of Marcella, a local gym owner and community legend shepherding Jai in his return to fighting.

Cindy Williams’ final television project, Sami, has gotten a premiere date on Prime Video. The 10-episode short-form comedy/musical series will launch April 23 on the Amazon streaming service.

The series wrapped just two months before Williams died following a brief illness at the age of 75.

Created by Williams’ longtime friend, Grammy-nominated music producer Bruce Kimmel, the series stars Kerry O’Malley and newcomer Sami Staitman.

Sami follows the adventures of Sami Sherman (Staitman), a young girl trying to make it as an aspiring Broadway actress/singer in New York City. O’Malley plays her mother and Williams plays her grandmother. Check out a clip of Williams above.

Allison Tolman has been cast in “St. Denis Medical,” a comedy pilot at NBC from “Superstore” and “American Auto” creator Justin Spitzer.

The pilot is described as a mockumentary about an underfunded, understaffed Oregon hospital where the dedicated doctors and nurses try their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity.

Tolman will play Alex, the supervising nurse in St. Denis’ emergency department who is dedicated to providing excellent care to her patients, often sacrificing her personal life to maintain her high standards.

Tolman recently held the recurring role of Winnie McLendon in “Gaslit,” the Starz limited series based on the Watergate scandal. She is also known for starring as Molly Solverson in Season 1 of FX’s “Fargo,” which earned her a Critics Choice Award as well as nominations for an Emmy and a Golden Globe. Her other TV credits include “Why Women Kill” on Paramount+ and ABC’s “Emergence” and “Downward Dog.

Eva Longoria’s feature directorial debut, “Flamin’ Hot,” had audiences on fire at its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival on March 11 — while deftly navigating the controversy surrounding the film’s subject without ever addressing it by name.

The movie is based on the life of former Frito-Lay executive Richard Montañez, played by Jesse Garcia, who has said that he was responsible for inventing the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos brand when he was working as a janitor for the company.

Before “Flamin’ Hot” went into production in 2021, however, Montañez’s claims were disputed by a Los Angeles Times report in which Frito-Lay stated that an internal investigation turned up no evidence that “Richard was involved in any capacity in the Flamin’ Hot test market” in 1990. Instead, the Times’ story attributed a Frito-Lay factory in the Midwest with spearheading the Flamin’ Hot brand and credited Montañez for helping to bring to...
