Loosely based on the historical figure of the same name, a warrior of African descent who served under Japanese daimyo Oda Nobunaga during the Sengoku period of samurai conflict in 16th century Japan.
In episode 2 of the series, this phrase "Out of my lord send his seven samurai instead, as a sign of respect" is mentioned. If we look closely, the phrase Seven Samurai is mentioned and it is a reference to the classic Japanese movie "The Seven Samurai" by Akira Kurosawa and curiously the plot of both takes place in those years. the Yasuke series in 1582 and The Seven Samurai in 1586.
